I feel so pek chek...right after long weekend, test dates are given.

Signing all the acknowledgement slips made me go ga ga.
Valentine's day tomorrow...thought of slipping to town with mum...but she made appt for facial. I am feeling so lethargic...just not in the mood :stupid:

We always need another break to recover from the previous break. I feel so lethargic today. Body clock all messed up due to irregular sleeping hours during CNY!

It's frustrating isn't it? We needed that long break after just one month into sec school...instead of being rejuvenated, I am more lethargic instead.
Body clock hard to adjust to routine.
What to do? We still need to adjust! :slapshead:

Yesterday showed my his Sci surprise test. Told me he’s no.2 in class. Waking up already.

After all, it is not a bad thing to fail, at least the kids will not take it too lightly. They will be more well prepared for their future tests. Since there is going to be countless tests, it is possible for them to overlook one or two tests.

My son was afraid I’ll scold him for a 52% grade for Chinese…but with so many tests, I close one eye but reminded him to revise constantly.

Sure agree that sometimes just need to learn through the hard way. I’m glad it happened at the beginning of the year so DS will gear up.

It's a new beginning...son is still trying to cope. Like next week, he has 2 tests on the same day - Eng & Math. All the tests are impt, so revision must be very consistent. Son's history teacher told class that there will be MORE to memorize as they move on.

I am stressed too...bcos I am under 'house arrest'...mornings are supposed to be 'me' time but yet I can't go out 😢 bcos I have to prepare lunch by 1230pm...besides stores do not open till 11am.

Mummy Janet, Happy New Year :hugs:

I have been reading your last few posts since you started this thread :salute: Hope what I am gonna say in the following, you will take it positively - It just my own humble opinions and hope it will encourage you :snuggles:

1) Place relationships first
Remind yourself that relationship is more important than results, and to look at what you can be thankful for in any situation. For example, when your son did not hit the targets he set for himself in any tests, you have to weigh what is more important. Do not harp on the results but take the opportunity to build the relationship with him from this small setback. Talk to him about how he felt, what went wrong and how he could have asked you for help instead of struggling on his own. Most important, Reiterate to him that you are on his side. 😄

2) Look after yourself
When we don’t get enough sleep, our concentration, productivity and health will suffer. Lack of sleep also makes us more irritable and sensitive to others’ remarks.
Remember to connect with yourself and schedule in some me-time. Once in a while have packed lunch for the kids so that you can have some me-time in the morning and need not be too rush to prepare lunch.

Doing something that makes us happy everyday will soothe our frazzled nerves and re-energise us. I am a full-time working mummy so time with my kids are limited and thus precious  I am learning the parenting skills - day by day, bit by bit. I am a short-tempered person but I am learning to control and let go many small things.

When we approach challenges in a calm and constructive manner, our children will learn and mirror these positive behaviours. Being positive and looking on the bright side of things also helps to change your mood and the atmosphere in the family. So smile and the whole world will smile with you.
