      Hi ladies,

Just curious, do you get that grouchy irritable mood before/after menses?
I get easily irritable moods when it is almost ending.

        Mummy Janet :hugs:

As woman - Yes! I know that feeling - grumpy, grouchy feeling before and after menstruation 😢 It turns out that our menstrual cycle affects our body and spirit all month long.

Estrogen and progesterone do a very complicated dance throughout your cycle. It's not merely the estrogen, but the balance between the two hormones, as well as other factors such as lifestyle, diet, stress, habits, other medical conditions and culture that affect us and make us who we are during our fertile and menstruating years.

What you can try to do - as I try that is have a hot water bottle or heating pad on your adomen, the belly will be very soothing -- good for both your mind and body.

If you can, just take a lift down to the void deck - walk around your neighbourhood or do any light walk; just do something you enjoy

Yes, I get that too. Not sure if EPO or Black Currant Seed oil helps with moods but heard they help with other PMS symptoms such as cramps. Also heard regular consumption beforehand helps to reduce the intensity of menopause symptoms.

Have not reach menopause but I intend to try out the above.

As for moods, what I do now is I am more aware of when the period is approaching and when I sense myself getting irritable or short tempered, I remind myself to calm down. Self-awareness and self-control is practised here, but sometimes it still happened too fast before I realised lol.

PMS moods before it arrives makes me grouchy, but the post menstrual moods are worse. Hubby will ask why I am more irritable when it is ending. Slightest thing will make me spark off. He will insist we go out for a car ride or somewhere to destress despite my objections.

I am trying out EPO to see if it helps…i avoid anything cold before it comes. But I still get bloated and backaches.

Of course I am happy when It ends, but my moods don’t seem upbeat.

                      Strangely,i didn't hv thyroid when i was working.Relapsed after i stopped working.

i also suffered fr. insomnia on & off,but now completely gone coz i wake up early to prepare b/fast fr my kids during wkdays.

However,my sleep is very interrupted.I could sleep ard 11pm,but wake up midnight, then watch TV,then sleep again...

U might wanna chk wf ur endocrine spec abt ur condition. I go for blood test for 3mth.

Other than PMS symptoms, sometx,i might sort of "shut down" mode…don’t feel like talking…ever wonder if i suffer fr. depression.

I try not to think abt it,anyway,no time to think abt it…esp.kids tests r approaching.
