      I give up!!!

It’s too confusing here. I’ve decided to put off the idea of getting the ergonomic table and chair for my son at this moment in time.

        To yellow belt,

Sorry for late response. The package included:
        a. Ergonomic Desk MARS G2-XS Pink TD152CLPT
        b. Children Ergonomic Chair - Pink
        c. 3M LED Polarizing Task Light - LED600 White
        d. Book Holder - Pink
        e. Book Ends - Pink &
        f. Desk Mat

What has been frustrating is that they have yet to deliver item (d). When the delivery was received, I spotted the discrepancy and included in the acknowledgement that the item has not been delivered. They promise to send me, as I rung the office thereafter, but no news at all. Recently I happened to be in Suntec so went personally to the shop. The sales person told me that she recalled the driver saying that the item will be sent by post and that was like a week before Christmas. Still no news yet. I intend to ring them up ago in due course. But the service attitude makes me wonder how strong the warranty would hold out, if I ever need it …

I must add that I am totally appalled at the ergoworks product that I bought from them!

The sales person who sold me the table and chair bundle insisted that he had told me the chair, which is covered in synthetic leather would peel after some time!!!

I totally had no recollection of that statement. if not, i would not have made that purchase... the whole family was there and knowing my hubby, he would have also discouraged the buy if he had heard that the chair would peel!

I called the showroom asking what happened to the chair...and they said it was 'normal' for synthetic leather to peel after some time. I may sound stupid but this was NOT made clear to us that the quality would be so bad...

The chair was clearly not misused, or put under direct sunlight or exposed to any form of cold temperature. the chair, in fact, was kept nicely in a cool temperature room, away from extreme weather conditions whatsoever. the kids would use it occasionally when they needed to do their work and with our supervision.

That chair was a problem other than just the leather itself...had to call the company to ask them down for checks not too long after purchase as well.

Now with the peeling synthetic leather, the clothes get stuck on with those remains of the peels and it drops all over the floor too...then on top of the peels, the white portion underneath is somehow powdery. So kids' clothes especially dark ones get stained white too.

To top it off, the upholstery is not cheap. Just to change it to fabric and including installation, it costs a whooping $290 as quoted by sales person!! the chair costs $690 now... that is like...half price of a new chair and their fabric is soooo expensive!!

They insisted that there was nothing they could do except to ask me to pay for upholstery to get it solved... the most upsetting thing is that, is I had known or been told that quality would be so lousy, i would not have bought!

So when you guys buy from them, think twice, thrice about quality...
That is quite horrible and unfortunate. I thought that their warranty would cover all these.

Reference to the earlier post, just to update that I have since received item (d), which is a book holder. A staff of the company (my wife received him) delivered the item and apologized for the delay. As a form of goodwill gesture, he gave us a book stand. The stand is attached to the table and allow books or other items to be placed on top of it, or beneath. Obviously we are pleased with the kind gesture, which they were not mandated to doing so in the first place.

Just to update if you are interested in this topic. Thanks.

I went City Square over the weekend to see the ergo tables Jarron is having on sales.

Putting aside the sales service, durability and the country of origin, frankly as a genuine consumer giving feedback, (i have been to 3 different shops excluding this), I would say they work the same one after another. Some brands may allow the tilting position to be higher, some lower. Other than that, I really cannot see any difference except the prices or the sizes unless someone can enlighten what else these ergo table can help which normal table can’t.

Some told me products are from xxx but assembly in another country, so to me they are all the same, not 100% made in xxx but prices differ alot.

We were tempted to get the $399 table which we feel it will work as well compare to the expensive ones. But after analysing, we realise our current computer table still works the best, the tilting table does not serve us any good purpose (mayb as of now) as my DS likes to read on his sofa…So we shelf the idea of getting one again for the time being…

Seriously do we really need to use these so called ergo tables? Was at wheelock the other day and the salesperson said kids will not develop spinal problems if they use these magic tables or otherwise has high chances of neck problem, growth problem, etc! No ergo tables in primary, secondary, jc, poly, uni, and kids turn out fine, so what's the issue?

I agree, what is the issue with the ergo stuff. :? The kids spend 6-7 hours in school sitting on normal chairs and about 2-3 hours at tuition sitting on normal chairs. When at home the kids may sit on the super duper ergo chair for 1-2hours on the weekdays. So DC spends 6-9 hours on a normal chair and that is remedied by sitting on the super duper ergo chair for 2 hours or more. Wow!!! We have a medical and scientific breakthrough that nobody is aware of!! :slapshead:

I now :udawoman: :udaman: to the ergo companies.

I now :udawoman: :udaman: to the ergo companies.[/quote]Well I have a different take on this. In my office, we had some really lousy chairs. It was horrible but no one dared ask the boss to upgrade the chairs as he was known to be stingy. Then one day the big boss from overseas came and he was appalled at the office furniture we were using. He gave strict instructions to have the entire department furniture replaced. And we got Herman Miller chairs. It was so much more comfortable.

The truth is we're spending longer hours sitting at our desks in front of a PC, whether at home or in the office. The same is for the kids. They spend longer hours in school, tuition and at home doing homework. I think it is important to make sure the kids get to develop good desk habits. I remember growing up and spending lots of time readinhg or doing my homework lying horizontally on the floor or in bed and it was a habit that I carried on in university. And the long hours spent hunched over long essays, maths problem sets etc... really gave me lots of neck injuries... muscular injuries... thankfully nothing related to spine etc.

I think good desk habits aside, if I can afford my child a good desk that he can enjoy and grow up with... why not? These days nothing is cheap... you buy a condo in Sengkang it's already $900psf... you buy in Bishan it's $1500psf.

Also, if we look around us, there are increasingly more chiropractors setting up practice in malls and you see so many of them at EXPO fairs. I think they are here because there is a demand and the demand is there because Singaporeans have health issues there.

Of course, most of our kids will do fine with a normal, simple and cheap desk.

Oh, I'm sold on it. I'm shopping around for a good one. Thanks everyone for sharing information and most importantly your personal experience.

mommy bee is Joshua Tan from Jarrons. He types exactly as he talk. Shame on him!

:rahrah: Applauds to the Moderator to send out the gentle reminder to these providers and hope it can spare us from these biased and unethical trying to promote their brands in the forum thread.

Sorry but I have to single out one of the companies here, they are from the same company and impersonate into multiple identities and promoting here. Please stop doing this. What we wish to see is customers who had bought the products and give a personal and fair review of the products.

There are total six companies in Singapore carrying different brands(oldest to newest):
                      1. Crosscom(Forum Galleria) - Moll System(Made in Germany)
                      2. Kinderfun(Centrepoint &United Square) - Comf-pro((Made in Taiwan)
                      3. Ergoworks(Centerpoint, Marina Square & Causeway Point) - Kuangshin(Taiwan)
                      4. Jarrons & Co(City Square Mall)-Kettler(Made in Germany), ROVO chair(Germany), ErgoSmart(Taiwan)
                      5. Kid2Youth aka ErgoKid(Suntec City and Wheelock)-Kids2Youth(Taiwan) & Moll(Germany)
                      6. Atwood(Ang Mo Kio Industrial Park)-Kuangshin(Taiwan)

Hope this info is useful to all parents.

Jarrons ah? Their product not so cheap as they advertise. Lots of extra charges… like delivery and installation need to pay for both desk and chair… in the end all adds up. Desk alone they say they charge $50.
