I recall being verbally told the mid-yr results. Only the year-end report includes the German marks, for RI's case.

Regarding scope of work , the students should know better than us parents. Perhaps, ur DS can email his MOELC teacher to clarify? I will be surprised if this is not provided to the students, like for the other school subjects.

Since we are in the topic of third language, I would like to check a few questions with parents whose DS is/are taking third language at MOELC.

1) Did any of your DS get their mid year results for Yr 1 last year? Especially for those boys taking German and Japanese.

2) was there a scope of work given out since beginning of year (something similar to what RI gives out every year where we know which piece of work is graded and what percentage they are worth)?

Thank you. My DS told me there is scope of work but there was no marks weightage like e other subjects. He has taken tests n projects but we do not know what are e weightage in those.

Just wondering if it is e same for other third lang.

I will ask DS tonight if weightage for test n projects were ever given to him for 3rd language.

Nowadays, DS hardly updates me on the happenings at school.. And I don't ask him much either.. I suppose, \"No news means good news\"?

DS received results for his 1st Japanese test. He said marks are included in overall score, but does not know weightage.

Hi Paddy,

I have checked with DS.. He said that the weightage of the various tests and assignments for Japanese Language was not given too (both last year and this year), but his teacher did inform them in advance if a test or assignment was to be included in the computation of the final score for EOY..

Don't worry.. As long as the boys try their best in every piece of work given to them, the individual weightage shouldn't be that crucial, I supposed..

Thank you for the confirmation. My DS was just curious as to why third Lang teachers did not tell the class anything. There are so many petite test, intermediate tasks n final tasks plus big test n final exam … He did not question last yr but guess he’s now curious n wanted to find out. N being forgetful, he always forget to check w his teacher.

He’s taking French … N looks like not many taking French, but a lot in jap n German. Anyway, thanks for all e sharing. Appreciated!

You have to check MOELC website at least 2 days before the 3rd lang class. They download all worksheets via softcopy. Prepare to print out 15 pages.

the class conducted in Newton right? the teacher is muscular man, old lady or young lady?
