It was pouring and the bus-stop outside CHIJ was chaotic. I was with my baby and trying to wiggle my way up the bus. This kind girl was sitting in the outer seat and after I asked my older gal to take the inner seat, she stood up and offer me her seat as well.
Her mother had taught this kind, considerate girl well indeed !
Thumbs up, for bringing up a good, helpful, thoughtful girl !

Hi all, any idea how to celebrate our girls birthday in school? :rahrah: Now my girl is in primary 1 and her birthday is round the corner, was just wondering like can we bring in a birthday cake? Or just distribute party bags?

How do kids celebrate their birthdays in school? I need to get some ideas . . . .

Hi,is it compulsory for CCA for primary 1. Already I find the time is very tight for the girls hahhahahahahah.

CCA is only compulsory for p3 onwards. The cca choices for P1s P2s seems to be quite limited, for some cca, entry is thru invitation only. my girl only ballet in P1 and P2. P3 onwards she was selected for netball

P1 workload should be ok..wait till your kid is p3... :D... my girl is in P5 now.....drowning in homework everyday...:(

Oh carol73 you can stressing me on Primary 3 already 😓
Now already my girl saying that she got sooooo many things to do hahhahahahahahah . . . . . well that is a student's life ! 🤷

CCA is thru invitation only . . . . hmmmmmmmm. How come huh just curious only! :scratchhead:
Is it that the child must have some background like say for ballet.

                  Hi everyone,

I was recently "introduced" to the school during a BBQ session as I was set on my DD attending CHIJ (Katong) in 2014 for a while now. What now make me consider this school was the distance from our home in Pasir Ris. A lot more shorter, faster and easier than wriggling thru the katong/Martia road traffic every morning. Reading a lot on the forum, some good experiences and some bad. But overall, if distance was not a factor, which would you choose - CHIJ Katong Primary or CHIJ OLN?

I am most interested to hear about the values taught at OLN, how is the new principal, Ms Debra Saw, academic focus or lack thereof about Maths and Science. What about focus on Chinese?

                  Appreciate any advise.

                  Thanks.

My girl so excited over the F.I.T party where she stay back and hang out with her peers! So after school the girls need to take their lunch in the canteen? Need to pack some extra $$$ for her.

May I know if the P1 girls can take ballet and volin as CCA? What are the cost involved? Do they do RAD exam?

Is it consider as CCA from P3 onwards?

                      Thanks!

Hi momresource, I only know that for ballet they don’t do RAD exams for the other Australian exam.
