Just feedback, the COP for Nan Chiau High should be 236 in 2012, not 243.

The COP of 243 for 2012 shown in the table refers to Nan Hua High and not Nan Chiau High.

Please see item. 24 at the table. 😛

24\tNAN CHIAU HIGH SCHOOL\t240\t243\t0
Oops :salute: I did not check the list at the link provided.

Hi
I thought the COP is given as a guide for students and parents to gauge the popularity of secondary schools and their chances of entering their chosen school. Since the COPs for SAP schools include bonus points for HMT, isn't it appropriate for the COP in the table to include HMT bonus points? :scratchhead:
The list of SAP schools has been included.

Whether a DC uses HMT bonus points depends on the DC's results, it does not affect the COP of the school.

e.g. NYGH's COP is 265. If a DC's PLSE score is 263 and she gets 3 points for HMT, she would meet the COP.

Hi happy fish, thank you for your feedback. Just to clarify, by HMP do you refer to Higher Music Programme, like the one offered by NYGH?

Hi
what i mean is the \"bonus points for SAP schools.\"

Any idea if MOE has historically been posting COPs of SAP schools that include or exclude these HMT bonus points?

24\tNAN CHIAU HIGH SCHOOL\t240\t243\t0
Sharp eyes JJ1111. Thanks for pointing that out. I have updated the list. Was wondering how could Nan Chiau not drop in placing despite a supposed drop in cut-off 😓

It looks like there is a vast inflation of PSLE aggregate scores. Scary.

Base on my understanding, the COP released by MOE is inclusive of HMT bonus points for SAP schools.

Ranking list is not desirable.

IP should have a separate list comparing and listing all IP intake COP.
'O' level track COP should be in a separate list.
School with dual track, the IP and 'O' should be separated as shown on MOE table..

Just an opinion, can't agree with the ranking list. 🤷

Some people find the List useful and rely on it to make plans/decisions..
Some people merely use the List as a guide..
If you don't find the list useful or reliable, then don't use it..

It is useful if looking at the school as a whole. If one likes to compare a list of IP schools, a IP list would be better. Likewise for ‘O’ track comparison…

Understand that takes efforts to create…
As I said, just an opinion and suggesstion…
Thank you Firefly38!

Hey all, MOE has just released the cut-off points of secondary schools and JCs in the latest posting exercise. I have arranged the schools by order of their COPs for easy reference. Hope this helps in your secondary school selection and planning.

Some interesting facts pointed out -- A distinction in Higher Mother Tongue (HMT) will grant 3 bonus points for entry into Special Assistance Plan (SAP) schools; Merit = 2 points and Pass = 1 point. SAP schools tend to put more emphasis on the Chinese language and Chinese cultural education. There are 11 SAP schools as follows:
Nanyang Girls' High
Hwa Chong Institution
Dunman High
River Valley High
St Nicholas Girls'
Catholic High
Nan Hua High
Anglican High
Nan Chiau High
Chung Cheng High
Maris Stella High
(MOE has not stated if the cut-off points of these SAP schools are inclusive of HMT bonus points. Could somebody help to clarify?)

FYI, St. Joseph Institution cut-off lowest at 241, not 242 as my friend's son got in at that score.
