Appeal Secondary One Posting

My daugher scored 237 and a merit in HMT. She is posted to Clementi Town Secondary school. I have submitted an appeal to Crescent Girls and she has been called for an audition for chinese dance tomorrow. Does anyone knows whats the percentage of success ? I didnt particularly highlighted chinese dance as my daughter only took it as a cca for pri 1 and 2. However the school said they know and just want to see if she can do the basics....does it sound convincing? Help! :?:
No harm trying - if that can get her a place in Cresent. Good luck ... -

hi poke4ernest,
dont worry too much n go for it. it is true that they just need ur dd to do the basics. there r 9 gals called up for this audition cos they need more chinese dancers for next yr's YOG. the seniors will be doing a routine for them to follow. they r looking for gals who can do the basics (eg. turn, kicking legs...etc) n more importantly, the enthusiasm.
i do know of a gal who backed out due to shyness last yr during the audition. so do give ur dd e best support n encouragement.
she is that close to getting it... gd luck!!

Not Most, but certainly some schools will have, right?

I think SCGS is strong in dance too, but they've removed their DSA link as to the areas available for DSA.
Here's an article on dance for DSA:

You can also consider the School of the ARts.

Does anyone know if there are any successful cases of RGS student appealing to NYGH? Please advise.

Hi Breezy, we went thru the audition. Most of the other girls are more experienced, one from Nanyang fine arts, 2 in grade 6 ballet, 1 had chinese dance p1 to p4, 1 already experienced and was dancing with the ribbon....in other words, my daugher is the least experienced!!

I was hoping she got selected for band audition instead but she got chinese dance...anyway, she tried her best already given that she was only in chinese dance for p1 and p2 (still baby then).
Thanks for your help breezy. Very kind for your encouragement. -
