[quote=\"AdonciaTang\"]I also have a tutor that I would like to recommend if you guys are interested. Both DS did very well under her. My elder DS got A* for his PSLE and younger son scored band 1 for last SA2.

But she is in the east side, tampines simei area. If don mind the distance, PM me. 😃 She was featured in the newspaper and magazines. Owner of the centre and teach by herself, my nieces and nephews also go over to her centre. The best thing is they have hands on experiment which both my DS love...

        Hi Adoncia,

Do you know of any? I’m thinking of sending my DD to one so that she will not idle her time away at home (eating, playing and watching TV prog) while I’m working.

There are not many March holiday camps that I know. Many do their camps during June holidays.

Since we're at this topic of science enrichment, perhaps I can introduce Young Engineers which is located near parkway parade. They do primary school science enrichment but using LEGO models to impart science, maths and engineering principles to young children. I think it'll be great fun to be able to infuse play elements into education! 🙂

Can you provide more details of this enrichment centre please.. 😄

I know of another Science enrichment centre. They focus on using hands-on experiments to make children understand the concept and tackle on answering higher order thinking questions.

My DD1 was able to get A* for PSLE Sci last year. I believe in getting my kids to be interested in the subject first (my DD1 complained Sci was boring in P3 cos there are lots of memorising of sci keywords, terms, concept, without seeing the link to the real world). I’m a working mum, so I don’t have the time to do experiments with them. So I sent my two kids to Science enrichment centre to learn more than the notes given in school.
Her teacher is able to make them interested in Science and then enhance their exam answering skills which is important for exam. The teacher who taught my DD1 is very experienced in teaching P5 and P6.
A few weeks ago, my DD1 had Physics in school where they learnt to read the zero error on vernier caliper. She was very happy that she had learnt before in P6 tuition class, hence she was able to teach her classmates. It boosted her ego and interest to learn more.
I feel education is a long process, hence we as parents should encourage our children and build their interest in learning for themselves. We cannot guide them forever.
