      happyheart:
I see a pattern.Ever Since DS' school started working on the PSLE Maths booklet, he seems to be happy working on those and managing it well. But I can't say the same when he attempts Top School papers.

I am scratching my head :scratchhead: :scratchhead: ... wondering which is more logical.

      1) He can do past year ACTUAL questions in the booklet and he will be able to pass the subjects in national exam, though not achieve higher banding since I assume many others can also do it.
      OR
2)Top school papers are set beyond what is actually tested in the real PSLE? If that is so, I should not be too worried if he cannot obtain good score with Top school past year papers?
From what I understand, the booklet does not include all the qns set in the PSLE paper.

ok. Back to square one. Maybe I have been ‘dreaming’ and hoping to comfort myself. We are not expecting him to ace this subject, honestly. But whatever it is, looks like he has to continue to work doubly hard.

The PSLE booklet, sad to say, does not include the entire paper.

I really wonder why…if it is compiled and published, why not the whole thing?

Not that I know of. But it includes crucial components like compo, compre, cloze.

The PSLE booklets (published by EPH & SAP) includes SELECTED Questions from all components in the actual paper. It is not a '10 year series' kind of booklet where the year's complete paper is included.

Example, the booklet 2008-2012 contains SELECTED questions from ACTUAL 2008,2009,2010,2011,2012 exams; it does not contain all 5 years' complete paper. However, you do get selected questions from ALL components including Oral,Paper 1 and 2.

Hence, if you compare the 2007-2011 booklets with the 2008-2012 booklets, you will know which questions are from 2012 PSLE exam.

Although it doesn’t include complete PSLE paper, it is still good to get it as students get a feel of what to expect, what kind of composition questions, type of cloze passages and comprehension OE.

Although it is not possible to tell what will appear this year, it is good exposure, just like getting past year exam papers done.
