      start to draw a model first.

      1 unit = cost of 1 chicken,
      2 units = cost of 1 duck (as duck's cost is twice of chicken)

      total chicken = 2 units
      total duck = 4 unts

      6 units -->$24
      1 unit = $ 4

      duck --> 2 units
      = 2 x $4

      A duck will cost $8.

      Hope this explanation helps 🙂

            Hi

            8 similar packets of sweets were shared equally among 37 pupils. When another similar packet of sweet was given out, each pupil received 7 more sweets. How many sweets were given out altogether? The answer given is 2331. Can someone pls explain, show workings and/or draw models on how to get 2331. Thanks in advance.

              Ok here goes simple working, don’t know how to upload drawing

              Total pupils–> 37
              One extra packet shared–> 7 sweets for each pupil
              Total sweets in 1 packet–> 37 x 7 = 259

              Total packets –> 8+ 1 =9
              Total sweets –> 9 x 259 = 2331

                  Sorry dear parents, need solution for the question below.

                  Draw diagrams / Guess and Check.

                  There are 8 goats and ducks altogether.
                  Some had 2 legs and some had 4 legs.
                  The animals have 20 legs in all.
                  How many goats are there?

                  Thanks.

                  P/s: The sch teacher said to get as less as possible for the number of goats.
