How to destress?

I don't enjoy shopping either. If I feel a need to go out and don't have anywhere else to go, I usually go to a library! Then I go home, make a cup of tea and read. That's my de-stressing method - I always tell my family that it's a lot cheaper than retail therapy and gin!
Retail therapy doesn't always work...a lot of times, I find myself going home empty-handed instead. See something nice like blouse, ask myself, do I need it ? Answer is NO. Hand bag ? Also don't need. Lipstick ? I still have.Mawar:
I have tried retail therapy but it stresses me more. I am not an impulsive or compulsive shopper. So when my girlfriends suggested giving myself a treat, I get additional stress.
I guess it boils down to what your stressors are ie family obligation, financial, deadlines, health etc.
Bed sheet ? Nah, there is one new set not even washed. So I understand why it can be more stressed using retail therapy.
Aimless walking...but console myself it definitely beats staying at home facing 4 walls. -
I stored all my fav songs in Youtube…so that when I iron clothes, I will play them. Really soothing and reduces the boring part of ironing…with the songs, I won’t feel that there is a mountain of clothes…instead it has the opposite effect. Shuffle the songs. Blast it out.

Spending a lazy, quiet afternoon, browsing those cookery books.....

Have a cup of tea, grab a book and sit at the balcony for hours…reading…

These days my local Library is good to zip in get books and zip out. It is no longer a place I can sit and browse or read. Every seat is hogged by Ah Peks snoozing, maids minding the young kids, teenagers dating/doing homework with all their barang barang strewn everywhere and young adults tethered to the electrical plugs. At opening times, many fight to be the first to rush in to get their hands on the newspaper. Quite a sight. Maybe it's just my library.

Ohh yess.. wrapping prezzies is kinda therapeutic for me too. :please:I put a lot of love into wrapping presents... yes, some pple like DH do find it a chore so I volunteer to wrap

Guess that's due to my love for origami and crafts. And it takes some skill to make it look good. -

I don't like to sit and read in the library, as you say, it's quite crowded. I just browse, borrow and go home.
