I am aunty...can't escape.
What is wrong with carrying an umbrella? Never knew umbrellas are associated with Aunties!janet_lee88:
I do not carry brolly unless there is rain.
I hate standing under scorching hot sun...but no way am I going to carry umbrella.
And what is wrong with being an Aunty (especially if you are one)? If you think you ain't one, then why are you so active in this 'Aunty' thread?!
But I am lazy to carry umbrella unless it rains.
Nothing wrong being an aunty...we all have to grow old...but it's important to grow old gracefully. -
Catching up on this thread and realise super aunties got different class oso because i thought general aunties don't pay by credit cards or actually even have one leh. :scratchhead: Oso this auntie (me) doesn't have the luxury to zip around in a car. Go pasar bring all four. Lug plastic bags plus push buggy or carry wittle wan in my kangaroo pouch (baby carrier). Want to carry umbrella oso not enuff hands. There was once I just made do with plastic bag hats for the girls to cover their heads. We re-organized our barangs to get two plastic bags for dds and the boys settle oredi because got rain cover for the buggy. Me, I don't fancy carrying umbrellas since young cos I either lose them or forget about them, especially since i fall asleep in the bus a lot when travelling. So, I play in the rain when the chance arises. A little rain won't kill. We will run and laugh our hearts out at our flat hairdo.. while trying to get home as fast as we can with the purchases and all. The boys would chuckle underneath their rain covers occasionally trying to pry their way out and get some of the fun in the rain as well.
Remembering these now reminds me of my own childhood days playing in the rain... :please: Childhood memories should be fun and happy ones. So when I look at the pictures of dds in their stylish plastic bag hats, all of us will break out in laughter. They look silly! But cute..
After all that fun, once when we got back... hubs said... wah leow... did you realize how body hugging your clothes are? Another time not knowing it was gonna rain I wore a white top and he wasn't so forgiving.. cos he said you siao issit wear white.. never bring umbrella.. then walk in the rain? -
Imami:
I hardly go under the hot sun these days. But if I have to, shades are actually more useful as the glare from the sun makes my eyes uncomfortable. As for zoo etc., it's caps or hats as too much hassle to carry umbrellas. There is one thing I find extremely aunty - using umbrellas under hot sun. Anyone does it?
Although I hate being under the hot sun, I don't do that. If I can't avoid, like going to zoo or sentosa, I wear a golf visor. Beat die also won't use umbrella under hot sun.
But I usually nag at my maid for not bringing umbrella when fetching my girl from school. Nag lah but doubt she observes it  -

If using brolly to shield from sun, have to get one that has UV protection or else it is ineffective.
Sun makes us more tired than usualโฆapply more sun block too. -
Imami:
Not exactly cos for mi I feel dat changing a car should serve the family needs, perhaps I am too practical. Of cos given a choice,I would love to cast these thoughts aside, get a coupe or cabrio which can never happen till many years later!
no la, not excuses :hugs: I understand the \" haiz... Men just don't get it\" when it comes to our bags and such. And yup, each of us is different and our own preferences shd be respected. But I don't understand the part on what u say about his car. Is it just in jest? I personally feel that driving a bigger car really feels different.piyobaby:
Yes I do, I have my own car which he criticize till like no value.... :stompfeet:
My point to him is also to each their own, men and women have different interest & weakness which should be respected?! Lol
Okie sound like excuses on my end..... :boogie:
Don't take his words about your car too personal. He may be too insensitive but he may just commenting based on his own standard/ preferences.
No no, he's just being plain irritating wif his remarks on my car.... :stompfeet: -
Busymom:
