Hi the talk will be held at Bukit Timah Plaza branch because I called the centre there. I was told it will help me understand the curriculum changes in Pri school and how I can help my child. I will go down tomorrow Sat to take a look and maybe register for the talk. I need info on how to cope with changes myself. sigh...sean wife:

I went down to their Bukit Timah Plazas branch on saturday. It was quite hard to locate but I found it eventually because the signage is not up yet. It is located next to Xue Lin Learning Hub on Level 2 , also next to the Korean Tawkwondo outlet.
The talk is by an NIE lecturer focusing on how parents can better understand policy changes in curriculum and then how parents can help their child cope with these changes. Since they are an English enrichment centre, their Prg Dir willl also give tips on how parents how help their children cope with the changes in the English. I think it will be quite useful because from what I read in papers last year, the new English exam looks quite tough.
I must say the centre is quite nice. The customer service lady told me the date for the talk is Friday night March 15. I was told that it is FOC for Learning Point parents but non-Learning Point parents have to pay an admission fee of $10 per pax and we will walk away with useful notes after the talk.
The people there at the centre seem to know what they are talking about. I heard on Sat that many of their parents have started registration and the seats are limited so I am very kiasu so I paid for 2 seats. $20 for 2 people to learn something new is not bad.
It is a chance for me to see the teachers there too. I told them I have a child and I may consider putting my child at Learning Point. I have placed my child's name with them already but I want to attend the talk first.

We’re planning to send our P3 boy to some English enrichment class like Englisher High Achiever in Mind Stretcher, but the classes are always full.
One alternative is Learning Point. Anyone has comments on Learning Point class?

DS is p2 tis year & dun like to do worksheets & drilling type of classes. Can someone share what are the classes in LP like, especially around P2 standard? How do they teach CW, etc?

Anyone has feedback on their P5 English Programme?
MY DS’ performance is an average kid, have been attending English Enrichmt elsewhr. Not sure wht can even pass their Test.

Too bad. I sent my P3 kid to Learning Points for assessment test recently but was told he was not qualified for the class.
My son is in the best class in one of the top ranked primary schools, scored above 90% for all the subjects including English so far, and was happy himself with the 3-pages composition in the assessment. The result is, he is still not qualified for the class in Learning Point.
My conclusion is, if a kid is qualified, he/she is not necessarily going for any enrichment class at all. Or, if a kid doesn’t score A+ or 95% after the enrichment course, the parents should sue Learning Point for the "failure".
