[Ang Mo Kio/Bishan/Thomson/Toa Payoh] Preschools

My colleague was shopping around for nursery in the bishan area. At one branded childcare centre, he was casually asking if they had infantcare services(he has a baby in 6 months time but he didn’t mention this). The teacher told him that infant care is not as profitable and only childcare can make money for the owner, so focusing on childcare only is more worthwhile.
Isn’t infantcare charging much higher in fees already? So is the lower profit the reason why few childcare centres want to provide infantcare? Notwithstanding the owners need to make a living, I kind of find it disturbing that profits and not passion is almost the sole objective that motivates the private operators. -

I heard the same from another centre at same area that infant care not making money and sometime lost money. This centre still has infant care service as a SERVICE for the sake and convenience of parents so that they can place both infant and older child in the same centre. They say they make the money from child care.
Operators need to make money too. If they are not making money why must they operate? -

There’s a new MindChamps preschool in Bishan, located in Midview City, Sin Ming Area. I’ve visited the school and quite like the centre premises. Very nicely renovated, bright with natural sunlight and the school is big with it’s own playground.
The gym is big and my child enjoyed playing with the gym equipment and musical instruments. I like that each class has it’s own classrooms and it’s beautifully decorated as well.
Have signed my boy up and waiting eagerly to commence school in April. -
hi. Anyone can give me feedback on Joy Little schoolhouse at sin ming Midview plaza? its for my 2 year old son. a few of the preschools near to my house at lorong chuan, their morning sessions are fully booked (ie. Shaws, Mastepiece). Sin Ming is a drive for us but if is a good school and has morming session, its worth it.

Anyone with feedback on Cambridge at amk/Mei hwan?
Is it true the teachers there are mostly Filipinos /PRCs?
Thanks! -
Hi all, I'll be moving to AMK/YCK and am sourcing for a new school for my boy for K1 next year. I'm looking for a school with a good curriculum but yet allows the child to have fun while learning at the same time. Also I'm interested to know if the school prepares the child well for P1.
I have visited most of the schools in the following list but I'm still undecided. So I would really appreciate it if parents with kids in these schools would provide some feedback. Thanks in advance!
P/S: If any parent would like to find out about my observations/thoughts of any of the schools (I've also visited Discovery Garden and Carpe Diem @ Hilltop), feel free to ask!
1) Nobleland Arts & Learning (Thomson)
2) LicDo Schoolhouse
3) Creative Inventors
4) Discovery Garden (Cactus)
5) Brain Buttons Kindergarten
6) Kinderland Preschool (Yio Chu Kang)
7) Bethesda Kindergarten (AMK) -

Please check out Chatsworth International Kindergarten @ Picadilly Circus (off Jalan Kayu exit via expressway). It fulfills your requirement. They organize many interesting activities for the kids and teachers are not afraid of the kids making a mess through sensorial play etc. The kindergarten is using an old colonial bungalow house with a large outdoor area / garden and carpark.
I have also somewhat checked out all those you have listed and am glad to have found Chatsworth through my neighbours' recommendation. Let me know what you think after your visit!
Cheers,
Desertwind

You can consider MindChamps Preschool at Bishan. It is located at Midview city. I've sent my child there and he's doing well. Very happy with the school, the teachers and the environment. Do take a look. -
Hi DesertWind and msscarlet, thanks a lot for your recommendations! Will check out the schools.
