Hi all,

Just out of curiosity, anyone who did not give formula to their kids at all, but rather provide other sources of calcium rich substitutes like yogurt, cheese, tofu and then move on to fresh milk after child turned 1 yr??
My ds was never on formula milk. He was on breast milk from birth to 2 years old. After 2, I switch to fresh milk which he is still consuming till date. He's 8. Very strong boy who hardly falls ill.

My daughter was the picky eater. Gave her pediasure and the dietician recommended a list of substitue foods. She was very sickly.

        Hi

My ds2 was on Friso3 when he was 1-3 yr old. After 3yr old, I changed to Friso4. Initially I thought since it’s the same brand, it should work well for him. But I started to notice that he constipated and always having a hard time clearing his bowel.

Now I changed the formula to Gain IQ kid. Still having the same problem after 1 week trial. I think I will continue for another week and see how.
        Any advise ?

        Thanks in advance.

              Hi mod_toomuch

May i know which clinic you purchase from. And how much??? Perhaps other mummies could also share where we can purchase cheaper milk powder.

              TIA

                Hi EN

                Thx for sharing 😄

DS was on BM until 1 yr. Supplemented with calcium rich foods like tofu and yogurt. Then ard 1 yr plus, gave him fresh milk and milo. But not evryday ... as and when he feels like it. But I do add milk in his oats evry morning 😄

Had to content with ILs worrying that he was not getting enough calcium, nutrients etc ... (they huge fan of formula cuz brought up 3 DS with that :D) while BF. Luckily DH supported me.

And you are right, my DS also quite strong. Doesn't get ill easily and when does, recovers fast too 😄

My 6 yr old daughter was on Pediasure since 1 year old. Tried downgrading to gain iq since friend claimed its good and cheaper, but she is too used to pediasure and cannot accept the new taste of the latter. I guess its always easier when you want to upgrade compared to downgrading… I would say its very good since it gives the extra calorie with reduced volume.
