will the school blacklisted us if we giving up the vacancy?

Since you given up the vacancy, why would you be concern about being black listed? Applicants who gave up their seat allocated, if want to re apply, is entirely up to whether the school wants to put you at the end of the wait list or still let you have priority if your kid has any skills they are interested in.

If you're thinking of giving up, why do you seek transfer in the first case?

As a parent, of cos we wanted the best for our children. And that’s the reason we are thinking to ask for transfer to innova. He rejected my idea when i brought up this issue to him, hence i m now in dilemma - to submit the transfer application or not to submit. We fully understand that the available vacancy is subjected to the school, it is still too early to discuss about rejecting the offered, if any.

He is the kind of easy going, friendly & helpful, hence we are not too worry for the transfer, if succeed. We are more concerned with the school environment & ethical teachers? From outside, everything seem to be great to us, but internally, we have no idea…

Mb for those parents with kids in innova can share with us your/your kids experiences in innova?

            Thanks a million~

You can visit the Innova thread in the parents networking section. Many pple are discussing how to PV at Innova so it does seem like a popular school.

If I were you, just submit the form. But you must be 90% sure of accepting it when you do get it. Kids are easy to persuade with lots of gifts…

Just checking around, what are the chances for transferring to schools like CHIJ St Nicholas in P2 or P3? Anyone done that successfully before?

Please advise what will increase the chances? Will they only give priority to those living within 1km or it’s purely based on grades and "talents"?

Is there any entrance test and interview involved? TIA

Don't think is easy to transfer into schools like Chij St Nicholas primary or MGS (Bukit Timah).

heard that the transfer queue is very long.
My friend's daughter started queuing up for St Nick since Phase 2c ended in P1 registration, few years back. Today she's P4 (from another school) ... still no news yet.

anyway, if you examine inside SNGS Transfer Application form requirements, they are interested in the applicants' type of CCA (Sports / Games) participated at National level (if any) :-

                    http://www.chijstnicholasgirls.moe.edu.sg/Page/Files/Form/Waiting_List_Form_2013.pdf

besides, they also request to see applicants' academic SA2 results.
can tell that they're also particular over Chinese.

Thanks Phtthp. Oh… that’s sad news leh… dunno whether I should try the ballot at St Nick’s or put gal in a safer school at Phase 2B then try for transfer later… I better think carefully.

Need to groom her in some national level competitions… super difficult. If that’s the case, then maybe we just apply to the secondary level after PSLE coz that’s just based on grades.

Not brave enough to attempt the P1 balloting…

Thought there should be at least some places esp after P3 (after the gifted kids shift out)?

Then we must first find out roughly on average each year, approximately how many CHIJ St Nicholas pupils at end of P3 are offered GEP, & seek transfer into one of the 7 GEP centre(s) ?

from here, then we can tell roughly how many P3 places have been released, for the Transfer of new P4 students to come in.

She is a SAP school. Yes, she is particular over the level of proficiency for Chinese in pupils. If your child do Higher Chinese lower primary from P1 to P3, is better.

also find out what niche CCA(s) SNGS primary desire.
