Thanks both, i will buy urs idea to put #1 in the wait list first, after all it's depending on the school availability. If really got the offer, then will try to put sweet chocolate dangled

Before u seek transfer for your child, must let your child know first. Let him be mentally prepared. Once a child pass p3, he would had already settled down in his school, have bond with his school, his teachers, his classmates. Thus may not be easy to move him, unless he's mentally prepared for the transfer.

Put on wait list first. Get the vacancy before you talk to your boy.it is easier to give up the vacancy if your boy refuse to transfer than having your boy looking forward to transfer but no vacancy. He will start to doubt if his current school is good.

        Jmho.

Since you given up the vacancy, why would you be concern about being black listed? Applicants who gave up their seat allocated, if want to re apply, is entirely up to whether the school wants to put you at the end of the wait list or still let you have priority if your kid has any skills they are interested in.

If you're thinking of giving up, why do you seek transfer in the first case?

As a parent, of cos we wanted the best for our children. And that’s the reason we are thinking to ask for transfer to innova. He rejected my idea when i brought up this issue to him, hence i m now in dilemma - to submit the transfer application or not to submit. We fully understand that the available vacancy is subjected to the school, it is still too early to discuss about rejecting the offered, if any.

He is the kind of easy going, friendly & helpful, hence we are not too worry for the transfer, if succeed. We are more concerned with the school environment & ethical teachers? From outside, everything seem to be great to us, but internally, we have no idea…

Mb for those parents with kids in innova can share with us your/your kids experiences in innova?

                  Thanks a million~

You can visit the Innova thread in the parents networking section. Many pple are discussing how to PV at Innova so it does seem like a popular school.

If I were you, just submit the form. But you must be 90% sure of accepting it when you do get it. Kids are easy to persuade with lots of gifts…

Just checking around, what are the chances for transferring to schools like CHIJ St Nicholas in P2 or P3? Anyone done that successfully before?

Please advise what will increase the chances? Will they only give priority to those living within 1km or it’s purely based on grades and "talents"?

Is there any entrance test and interview involved? TIA
