Any parent here planning to apply DSA to CHIJ? First time getting ready for PSLE other than my own (and not that I can remember that it was this stressful πŸ™‚

Maybe can share some thoughts with me? TIA
I heard DSA to St Nicholas not easy, competitive as well.
Need to achieve reasonably good results for Pri 5 and mid year P6 results.
      But no harm trying.
      Good luck!

I see. Thanks for taking time to share with me.

Btw, should we not succeed in DSA, can we still apply for the same school when PSLE results are out?

Yes, what worriedpapa said is right. You need to ensure your targetted school dsa sports coach/teacher knows your kids accomplishments and credentials. But I think, it doesn't mean pull string. If you can pull string then good. If can't, I think still got chance.

My DS dsa through sport last year.

          Dear SHAmum
Can you share which sport and which school your DS dsaed? And can you share with us your experience please? Thank you!

RI : sport trial + GAT test ( before /after sport trial)+ interview

HCI : sport trial + (only short listed student) English, Math, chinese test + interview

ACSI : sport trial + interview (not all student need)

Working parent prepare to take leave as those trial date are mostly on weekday (for last year). If u plan to go for dsa, prepare personal profile earlier including testimonial from teacher to avoid rushing like me (although not that difficult). I decided to go for dsa last min. Other then that ds enjoy going for trial as he got excuse to play more.

Just info, I saw some kid tried for dual sport and went to second round... not sure about final.

Yes, after PSLE results out, schools allocation is by Merit.
Yr DD trying for St Nicholas? Any other school?
              Can attend its Open House.

                  Correct, based on T- score.
St Nicks COP this yr 253 (O level) due to Dragon Yr. Most schs COP may drop next yr...
It's DSA Open House around May.

                    Hi ChipnDale,

Really appreciate your answers to my many queries. Grateful πŸ™‚

I saw the Open house at St Nicks was in Dec last year. Do you mean there is a separate one for DSA in May?

One more question:- My HB was asking what if after IP track (A levels), child decide to go Polytechnic but dun hv O levels?

Dec Open House meant for all students in general.
It has DSA Open House for students vying admission through DSA around May.
If decided to switch to Poly, shd approach Poly admission office to enquire the criteria, and if there's any more vacancy left after admitting O level students.
