Thanks sweetbaby !
I was told at the primary 1 seminar held at East coast primary school last month that there is no criteria for balloting ( as regards to distance per say), meant it is open balloting for at phase3. Seems logical. Could someone share some info.
If not, we might have a hard time as within 1 km we have Telok Kurao, Mahabodhi which are not even to be dreamt of :)) for phase 3.
And the fact that our lease term is renewed till the end of this year, so as we can move according to the school in Jan next year.
I have shortlisted the same schools in bedok according to the previous data.
Think need to target only in the schools which have a large margin in no. of apps vs seats available.
Also my DS is born on 02 Jan. Does it matter in case there is any preference given ? Just a question.
Thanks. -
Hi,
i would like to seek advice. I can actually reqister my child under phase 2A in a popular school where i was a former student but distance is of an issue to me cos we do not stay near the school. From where we stay, there are 2 schools which are within 1 km, thus my preference is to register my child into one of these schools. but we would only qualify under phase 2c, which by then most of the vacancies should have already been filled up and balloting may be required.
qs: can i register my child in phase 2a in my former school first and then gauge for situation in the other 2 schools near my house under phase 2c. if possible, is withdrawal allow to qualify for a place under the other 2 schools? ie. if no balloting is required for SC staying within 1km from schools, logically i should be qualified. but if i were to withdraw from the phase 2a, am i still qualify to register under phase 2c?
thanks to advise. -

As far as I know, the birth month has no correlation to any preferences/advantages. Until Phase 2Cs is over, you wont know the the no of vacancies in each school. But I've heard lots of good things about Opera Estate and a nice mix of international kids.
Say that if what you heard is true \"there is no criteria for balloting ( as regards to distance per say)\", you can look at further schools as you'll be shifting appropriately. However, I'll call/email each individual school that I'm interested in to confirm if its true. Do take note, if you're balloted out during phase 3, MOE posting might not be very favourable. Check out this thread, maybe one of these parents can offer better help.

From what I learned from the experienced parents here, its possible to register in phase 2a first. However, you'll need to withdraw from Phase 2a before you can qualify from phase 2c. Since you didnt provide info about the other 2 schools, maybe you might want to check out your choice schools balloting history to get a better gauge what you'll like to do. -
Hi everyone!
I’m new here and my kiddo is attending P1 next yr! Pretty excited becos she’s starting a new stage in her life… haha told her she’s no longer a "baby" anymore and gg to an official school next yr alr.
I’m living in SK, Rivervale area and rivervale primary sch is jst below my blk! It’s currently my first choice but i read in other threads that the competition is high for P2C… stress mode on
Initally i wanna put her in CHIJ Kellock as it’s my Alma mater but then the distance really put me off… my parents place is nearby tho, but i dont want to leave her at my parents’ place for the next 6 yrs… so i dropped that idea.
i was also considering Meetoh School, but that is another school tt has high competition as well right? sigh
what other options is SK in the event balloting for P2C (RP) is unsucessful? Many thanks!

Yes, you may register in P2A and withdraw your place during P2C if you think you have a good chance with the school that you qualify under P2C. -
