The Merchant of Venice! Ah... I remembered studying this for literature for Sec 2... 32 years ago! šŸ˜›

And lest the thread starter demand for his pound of flesh from me for sullying his thread with my inane reminiscing, my son did \"The Boy In Striped Pajamas\" in Secondary One last year.

Hey! I did those 2 too, although I can't remember which year I did them in. I don't like Animal Farm as I felt it was too contrived and frankly, quite boring, but TKAM deserved every bit of the Pulitzer it won. It has all the elements in there. I loved that book. Harper Lee's my idol.

I also recall \"King Solomon's Mines\". The Queen of Sheba filled many a night of my adolescent dreams

\"Macbeth\" was also somewhere in there. Somehow, I don't get Shakespeare. Can't really understand what's so good about those plays. But I'm really glad they didn't get us to do Pygmalion :rotflmao:

7 commandments? You mean the \"2 legs bad\" thingy? I only remember the \"4 legs good, two legs better\" one.

It's not the melodrama that gets me in Shakespeare (nothing compared to what we get in Taiwanese serials), it's the &#^! language. Can't they just speak English? :frustrated:

:rotflmao: :rotflmao: and I thought I was alone - not understanding the language. Did r&j for my o levels but guess what, I had never read r&j from the first page to the last page. Not even once. I just couldn't understand what I was reading and found it a total waste of time to read.
