My son is in the top 3 classes and he is distressed over the homework, remedial classes and tuition which is twice weekly.

There are about 6 classes in different levels divided into different streaming benchmark. The teacher will expects all the homework and revision work must be submit within the next day without any excuse otherwise they will be asked to stay during recess time to complete the rest of the outstanding homework. You need to consider that students need to reach school before 7.10am sharp not 7.25am.

There is a student care managed by YMCA lately commenced on 1 January which you are able to obtain the form at the General Office.

School life is different with ours and sometime I do pity my boy daily rush for school and homework deadline. Some school is better that they keep
in a few classes and able to focus with their children.

It is not true that if you do not submit your work by the next day you will have to be asked to stay during recess time to complete it.It is only if you have not submitted your work for quite a few days. And what level is your son in?

We like this school! My daughter is in 3A class, they have a special program which is speech and drama. It’s once a week, with English and Chinese. Students have 70% subsidy from MOE and school for this program,we only need to pay $100+ per year. All e students will take London Trility College speech and drama exam, they will get grade 5 when they are in P6, and they can be a preschool speech and drama teacher when they get grade 6 certificate. My daughter enjoyed this lesson very much. In addition, she also joined Ballet lesson in e school, Choir as CCA this year. We no need to send her to other places, she can learn a lot just from school. She is always happy when she come back from her school, and she said that they all like e new Priceple, he is very kindly and motivated. For academy,White sands primary is not e best, but its a very good school which offering enrichment education to thier students.Hope these informations are useful.

Hi!!! I am newbie to this forum and would like to join as an official KS mom. My son is born in 2008 and we are Singapore PR from Tampines.

I stay within 1km of White Sands Primary School in Pasir Ris and have been accepted as PV. I am also KS like many since I am not a citizen and I know my queue number is after citizens have secured their place first. Hence, I PV even I stay within 1km hoping for higher chance to get in under Ph2B.

My question might be sensitive to some but I would still like to check how’s the environment for those who is familiar with WS as well the ratio of Chinese students vs. Malays. Is it true there are a lot of Malays in WS than Chinese students?

                    Thanks in advance.

It's quite apparent that you're not Singaporean as it shows in the fact that you brought up such a sensitive question about race. For SCs, we consider many other factors before we come down to look at the racial distribution in a school. Because, we are ultimately Singaporean first, race second.

As for your question, this is Singapore, there's no such school where there are more Malay pupils than Chinese pupils in it. The national percentage per race alone is telling enough that the majority race is always the majority in any school.

However, if you prefer a school with close to 100% of the majority race in it, you should consider SAP schools instead. There's one in Tampines. You should forgo the WSPS.

                        Hi,

Any one knows whether whitesands primary offers taekwondo as cca?? I stay within 1km of wsps. However, am looking for more hollistic rather than academically inclined school. Deciding between parkview and whitesands. Any feedback on whitesands primary??
