      Hi parents,

Like all parents, we've been thru a rough time battling my daughter's eczema. We saw a number of specialists and all they prescribed was a range of steriods which seem to get stronger & more potent. I googled every night in search for an end to this trauma which many people told me there's no cure.

We have tried a wide range of sensitive skincare products eg Dermavene, Physiogel, Cetaphil, QV, Sebamed, ..... - which did not seem to help much. I also let her bathe in sea salt (from Dead Sea), epsom salt, oats bath, apple cider (direct application & bath). No luck still....

Then, we tried natural pure organic oilments eg olive oil, coconut oil, shea butter. My girl also took supplements such as zinc, fish oil, evening primrose oil to help \"moisturise\" her skin internally and I think it makes sense.

The 100% pure organic shea butter and virgin coconut oil does help to keep her skin moisturise longer and delay the flare-up from every week to every 2 weeks. The dosage of steriod was reduced considerably.

I was encouraged and I was adamant to look for better cure. And a friend vaguely mentioned crocodile oil but was not sure of the supplier. I then googled and chanced upon Chop Wah On in Chinatown which sells medicated oil and immediately bought a small bottle (about 50ml) for $12.

The oilment smelt horrible and looked like lard! I shook the bottle well and applied twice daily on my girl's skin. After 3 days, the red patches turn brownish, skin flattens and disappeared!!

Hurray, I held my breath, dare not rejoice too much and waited to see it it returns. For about 5 months, she had very beautiful skin that you would not imagined that she's suffering from eczema.

I was not able to conclude confidently if the crocodile oil did the trick as we had done trial & error on so many things, it could be the Supplements which took time to show results. During this period, my daughter did not abstain from any food as we realised that it did not matter what she ate.

Then recently, she had 2 rounds of flare-ups in Jan & March, possibly due to tests/weather stress. Both times, I only applied the Crocodile oil and shea butter/coconut oil - and nothing else. Both times, the flare subsided within 2 days!!

My conclusion: The Crocodile Oil does miracles, it's fast & effective and affordable!!

      Hope this helps! 😂

        Hi ezmum,
Appreciate it if you could let us know the shop name and where exactly in Chinatown to get this crocodile oil? Where is this made in?

        Thanks!
        Xiaohu

          Hi Xiaohu,

As the name implies, it's made of mainly crocodile fats. Understand now the smaller bottle is not available, only $50 - you may wish to call & verify. But still worth the money as it's long lasting and has multi-purpose uses eg cuts, burns, insects bites, itch etc...

You can visit http://www.chopwahon.com for more info. It's located at 34 Upp Cross Street, Tel 6223-4349 (nearest MRT: Chinatown).

          Good Luck!

                  Hi ezmum,

About the crocodile oil, I like to find out from you if the oil has the same effect like the medicated oil. My DS has eczema on his upper eyelid, so I’ve to be careful on any application.
                  thanks.

                    Hi Harlequin / Nutty mum,

The texture is like lard with a strong animal \"lard\" like scent - still bearable and it doesn't stay for long.

It doesn't sting like medicated oil though. Just imagine applying a thin layer of lard.

                    I've attached a pic fyi.

                    Hope this helps. 🙂

:thankyou: ezmum. Indeed it looks like \"lard\"! haha. but all I wanted is the cure otherwise it looks really ugly when DS scratches it!

Emu Oil works well for my children. You can get it from pharmacies. They are widely available.
