Chia Seeds
-
I think it is better to soak chia seeds before consuming them.
There is a limit to taking chia seeds. Limit to 2 tablespoons per day. Those on blood thinners, planning a surgery etc, do avoid chia seeds as it has ability to thin blood.
Remember to drink heaps of water while taking them.
I just started them taking 2 months ago. I am now able to clear my bowels everyday since taking them. I used to have constipation. -
I bought mine at NTUC. GNC also sells chia seeds.

I buy Navita brand for Chia Seeds from iherb. It’s a big packet. For those who just want to try out first, I suggest you buy small portion from local shops first and if you like then get a bag from iherb.
If you want to make Chia Gel, the formula is 1/3 cup to 2 cups filtered/distilled water. I usually make half of that portion. 1/6 cup to 1 cup water. Use a glass bottle and you add seed to water, not water to seed. Use a chopstick and stir a bit to help the mixing. After an hour, the seeds will expand and become like cooked sago. You can keep this gel for up to 7 days. You can mix it with your drink or eat it neat.
Most of the time, I just use Chia seed as a sprinkle to my cooked dishes or salads. -
I bought my Chia seeds, at last! :rahrah:
Got it from Four Seasons Organic Market at Great World City.
1 Kg (big plastic jar) at $47.80, the brand is The Chia Co. Australia.
Earlier on I saw the same brand of Chia Seeds at Rochester Market, 500 gm packet at $34.60 :yikes: -

How much does it cost in NTUC? -

I think cheapest at iherb. I use Navita's brand for my Raw Cacao Powder and Butter too. It's quite high quality. Here's the link. Only about S$17 for 454g.

Ha Ha Ha! Who is still buying their health food and supplement from local retail these days? We have to pay a lot more (sometime double!) buying local becaue we have to help them pay the expensive rental at shopping malls. Buy from iherb.com. Delivery is very reliable and cheap. Recently I paid only $8 for DHL Express shipping (3-4 days) for two 30oz liquid multivitamins that weighed almost 7lbs.
You can use code IGE789 to get USD5 to USD10 discount from your 1st time purchase. Happy shopping!
