      Hi Yeng,

Appreciate for your input. Thanks a lot.

      Hi pqy,

I do not get my supplements from Drugstore (range & price cant match iHerb), so I can only comment on iHerb.

I buy the exact same supplements locally (from my doc) and from iHerb. Thus I know for a fact that the supplements are genuine and of top quality. iHerb has been in business for a long time. People from around the world ship with them. Compare to other similar online websites, this is THE best place to get you quality supplements at incredible prices.

I have written a detailed write up here:
      http://yengbb.wordpress.com/2012/09/06/469/

Feel free to email me at [email protected] if you have any more qns. I will try to help.

This is a good month for all to shop at iHerb. Promo ends end Jan.

My two girls who are at P1 and P2 now, are taking this supplementary health drink everyday. We started about 8 months already and since then I hardly remember I brought them to see GP/ doctors. They did sneeze and irritating cough for a while but it was really short one, did not even develop further to the extent that I have to feed them doctor medicine.

The main ingredient of this super food is the wolfberries juice/extract, raspberry, pomegranate, Blueberry, cherry and several essential oils like orange, lemon etc. This is highly antioxidant food and it's to boost up immune system.

If you are interested to find out about this, feel free to email me at [email protected]

You know how saturated fat, mainly from meat and dairy products, is bad for you? Omega 3 is a range of different types of fats that are good for you.

If you cook some meat then allow the fat left over in the pan to go cold it goes hard, right? That’s saturated fat and that’s what it does in your blood. It blocks up your arteries and isn’t good for you for a range of reasons.

If you cook fish and let the fat left over go cold it isn’t hard, it’s runny. So that’s good fats, or polyunsaturated fats.

There’s a number of Omega 3 fats. DHA is the most important, and EPA is too. Both are found in marine sources, basically fish.

Then there’s ALA found in plant sources like flaxseeds. Not as important but still useful to your health.

There’s a wide range of different conditions that have been shown to respond positively with Omega 3 supplementation. The American Heart Association tells us to eat fish at least twice a week for our heart. The Omega 3 fats in fish are good for us.

They reduce the risk of heart attacks, heart disease and strokes. Studies have shown that Omega 3s are good for your brain, improving memory and brain function.

There’s more conditions that are said to respond to Omega 3 like depression, arthritis and any condition where inflammation is an issue. Omega 3s reduce inflammation more than aspirin.

And there’s more. Have a look at the website below if you want to find out more. It gets quite involved.

Unfortunately the toxins in fish (mercury, PCbs, dioxine and so on) aren’t good for us so you shouldn’t eat a lot of fish. The FDA tells us not to eat a lot for that reason.

The best way to take Omega 3 is to take supplements daily. The best ones aren’t contaminated and so you don’t need to worry about that. Not all of them are the same though, you have to choose well.

                Hi sundaymorning,

Blessedwife posted the same qn to me previously, I just shared on another forum thread:
                http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=104&start=380
Scroll to the bottom of the page for the supplements recommendation. I also shared about how improving their diet will help strengthen their immune system too.

Btw, I do not recommend getting individual vitamins or mult-vits, these are best derived from food sources. We should only supplement our diet with what we can't consume enough of via food and in safe way (e.g. mercury in fish).

                  Hi mummies,

You all may consider giving supplements like sesame seeds, lecithin, kelp powder & etc to improve their immune system and etc instead. They can be easily found in iherb as well. One reliable brand will be NOW Food which can be found at local Nature’s Farm outlets too.

For those who wish to purchase from iherb and happens to be 1st timer, PM me for discount code.

Would like to ask when would be a good time for kids to consume fish oil? In the morning or night? Before or after meals?

                      Thanks!
