can share what r the cca?
-
it’s not really CCA… just some programmes that the school came up with to start things off for the kids. Usually P1s don really have CCAs yet… so this is more like introductory modules.
They are having Inline Skating (Sports), Creative Dance (Dance), Mosaic Art (Visual Art) and Choral Singing (Music). Quite holistic if u ask me. And if the school is committed, these activities can spin off to broader areas.
Not really what I would want… but at the same time it is not somethin I would be disappointed with.
Will be watching how this goes. -

I think it's a good start to begin with. It quite interesting to me as it's not really focused on academic subject. Rather it's more like a CCA. The activities will last till end of year and i believe there will be another 4 choices next year. Good exposure to children before they start to choose which CCA to join in Pri 3.it's not really CCA.. just some programmes that the school came up with to start things off for the kids. hihi… agree that the ccas are quite a niche… i have a qns…why do we need to pay for it…? does that apply to other schs as well? i know they have engaged an outside provider, why cant get the tr to conduct…?

You have a point there.
But i suppose these are not the school's official CCAs.. so it is considered like an enrichment course for the students. Other schools they already have existing CCA programme in place. As CCAs only starts at P3 onwards, they usually conduct introductory classes for P1 and P2. And they tap on the existing CCAs to conduct these introductory modules.. hence no need to pay. Not sure how the other new schools do this though.
Not sure if the teachers have the ability to teach these programmes also. I mean.. some of them may know how to skate.. but may not know how to teach kids to skate properly, etc.
Just my take ah. -
At the Parents’ Briefing… hmm… not many people.

sianz… weighted assessment starting from this term onwards… not in favor of it.

the Head ICT is full of energy and can see that he has great creativity… at last… there’s someone who shows a high level of creativity!
