Which device/tablet to get?
-
I am thinking of getting a tablet for myself to replace my laptop. Wonder if anyone can give some advice?
I would like a device that
- allows me to create, edit MS Word/Excel documents
- allows me to save files to thumb drive
- allows surfing of internet with minimal scrolling (10" screen? I have a spare 3G simcard)
- quick start (like smart phone)
So far I have tried the new IPAD and I like it for the large screen display and quick start. However, it is a closed system and I could not edit my documents and transferring of data is a chore (I have a habit of backing up using thumbdrive)
Others that I am thinking of is Samsung Galaxy Tab 10" or Windows Based Tablet like Nokia Lumia.
Any suggestions? Thanks in advance. -

Hi, I would like to know which tablet is better, samsung galaxy 10.1 or ipad 2? I would need it to have a long batt life.
TIA. -
If ur using it for word processing like word then iPad is out.

I like the Samsung Galaxy 10.1 myself.
Android OS allows many different apps and compatibility.
I also have a Samsung Tab 2 7 inch but I find 7 inches is too small for surfing the internet effectively. With the 10 inch I can browse the Internet full version websites with ease. -
ASUS transformer. suka suka tke keyboard out then become laptop…if not is tablet…

For your purposes you may wish to get a netbook.

Tablets are best used for content browsing, not really for content creation. For content creation, a keyboard and mouse is a must and if Word document is what you need to create, a Windows OS is best. Windows tablets are too expensive for what they do, best get a netbook, it is the most cost effective. An ultra notebook is also another option, but it is more expensive, but in return you get more powerful processor. But if all you need is Word document creation and editing, then netbook is the best choice, light, small and cheap.
