Sorry for my late update. Have not been accessing this forum for awhile. Regret to inform that my daughter's treatment was Dr Kelvin Lau was not successful. After 24 sessions in 3 months, her degree did not stablisize, worse it has gone up. Initially Dr Kelvin Lau informed that her degree has better by a few degree but when I told him that we have recently went to NUH and measurement given by mainstream dr suggested went up further. Dr Kelvin Lau remeasured and finally agreed that her degree went up a little. He further suggested that we sign up for more intensive program. We have decided not to.

Guess the program may or may out be suitable for all kids and a lot also depends on the child, if he or she has been diligent in the exercises recommended. Tks

Hi Superbugs sorry to here about your progress. Yes I think no treatment is 100% effective and his treatment does require the person to be committed to doing their exercises taught by Dr Kevin Lau. I would still recommend others to try non-surgical before going under the knife. We are glad to put this behind us as my daughters curve is stable and the hospital has discharged her.

Going to Dr Kevin Lau for his non-surgical treatment of scoliosis was still the best decision we made.

Hi Macy, thanks for sharing. Am considering my 2 daughters for treatment. How many x-rays did your girl have to take during the 3 months therapy? And roughly how much is the cost?

Hi grace and faith, Dr Lau recommends that we maintain the scheduled check up with HPB so to not over xray. I paid $4k for 3 months. Previously I spent more on a hard brace then a soft one but the didnt work.

We are continuing with the program and I hope we never have to go thru surgery... will wait and see as we have a check up in a few months at HPB.

It's been a long journey but I would like to report that my daughters scoliosis is finally under control after seeing Dr Kevin Lau and we avoided surgery. We are happy to report that NUS doc have cleared her as she has her bone has matured. It has been a stressful few years but im glad we saw Dr Kevin as her curve went from 58 to 35. There was a period where it shot up again due to growth spurt but the doctor was able to help control it and finally bring it down to its current degree. We did the initial 3 months then continued with the exercises at home after. When the growth spurt happen we saw dr kevin again. Now we have learned to manage it with the exercises and some maintenance from him. It has been stressful and many sleepless nights worrying about the prospect of surgery especially when the specialist only want to operate each time I saw him.

I agree… I think sugar is bad for any child and from my experiance the less sweet stuff I feed my child the better they concentrate. Where do u get Nordic Naturals nansk?

I too I remind my daughter the importance of sitting up right and develop her self confidence.
