Iluvjr2: Free n easy is I think best done with rental car. While you can get local car rental company to bring you there, you will probably still want a car there to move around easily and quickly. Get there in the daytime to be safer (countryside can be dim at night), and to see road signs more clearly.

I am interested to know how much does it cost for two to charter a private car to go khao yai from bkk too. Any idea?

People visit khao yai national park. Don’t think any other attractions available if you are looking for museums, shops, etc.
