fable:
I wonder if someone can help me with my situation. My maid is a transfer maid so her documents are somewhat all unsync. Her passport expires 24 Nov 2016. her KTKLN card expires 13 Dec 2013. Her work premit expires 29 Sep 2014 which is also when her contract expires.

Can I ignore the KTKLN card expiry for now? Till she decides to renew her contract in 2014. If she decides to renew her contract, then I need go to the Indo embassy to get a new contract done, do up a new WP then she can come back from her home leave? Can I renew her contract before the existing contract ends?

The KTKLN card is only needed when your helper needs to come back to Singapore from Indonesia. So yes, you can ignore the KTKLN expiry for now I believe.

Thank you!! Though I think I will have to get a proper contract done at Indo Embassy if she decides to take home leave before the 2 years is up. The contract signed at the agency dont seem very proper and likely not recognised by the Indo government.
Yup, when the time comes you'll need to bring your helper to the Indonesian Embassy to get an official contract signed. Make sure you bring IC photos for her, and set aside at least 2 hours to get it done. At least its free!

Am wondering if anyone of you have tried to hire an Indo maid with going through an agency?

My in laws who are living in Bali found a lady who is ex-SIN maid and will like to come back to Singapore to work.

She will renew her passport on her own and will apply for the KTKLN card in Bandung. But how does she apply for the \"Employment contract, issued and endorsed by the Embassy?\"

Can someone help me shed some light on how do I go about getting this done.
The issue is, I don't think she can get her KTKLN card unless she has the employment contract from Embassy, which is issued here. So she has to get here 1st. My ex-maid came back just before this ruling. So went to get her Embassy endorsed working contract just before she went on home leave. When she gets back, she will apply her KTKLN card.

Photocopy both sides of your IC and work permit card. Otherwise have to queue another place to do it. Just bring employer ID, maid passport and work permit.

My helper came back with the KTKLN card. Not difficult to get. Just a day or two but as usual they will ask for kopi money even though it's \"supposed\" to be free. And she had to \"bargain\" saying she had no money (that's why she has to come SGP to work) and they gave her a dicount

With the card, it was a breeze getting out.

To sum up, for the indonesia side, most important is the Passport and KTKLN card.

To apply KTKLN: - http://ktkln.bnp2tki.go.id/ or go to local office : http://ktkln.bnp2tki.go.id/lokasi_ktkln.pdf
I suggest bring 2 copies of each document to quicken the process at KTKLN office.
1. FDW’s KTP card ( similer to Singapore NRIC)
2. FDW’s KK card ( Birth Certificate)
3. FDW’s Passport - 2 photocopies from the Identification page and the last page if the Employers
address is chopped from the Indonesian Embassy in Singapore
4. 2 passport size photos (white background colour photo)
5. Pay for 2 years insurance at KTKLN office (approx 290,000 RP)
6. if officer ask for kopi money... just cry hard =x

I also noticed the requirement for an employment contract.
7. Employment contract endorsed by Indonesia Embassy in Singapore.
(not sure if only applicable to ex-workers coming back to SG or also to new helpers)

Hi,

My ex-maid came back Singapore to work for another family.
She decided to leave after working for them for 3 months as she’s not able to tolerate that family’s lifestyle and they don’t show her any respect.
She wanted to come to work for us since she used to work for us for 8 years.
She’s holding KTKLN expire in 2015.
Can anyone advise what we need to do to hire her?

You can't hire her unless the current employer agrees to transfer her to you.
But they would probably have paid a huge sum of agency fees so I think they will not be willing to do that. :moneyflies:

i rmb contract term of 1 month notice appllies to both parties, but i think the maid would need still need to.pay agent money. and employer signed 8 months cheques to agent. so 2 issues,

1. if current employer doesnt want to pay for transfer fees, then either the maid or new employer will habe to lay the transfer fees.
2. if maid gives 1 month notice, i dunno if she still need to pay for the remaining 5 cheques.
