I also be likely to send my girl to PLMGS if my son goes to Maris Stella!! looks like both of us stay around the same area. me in Kovan 🙂

      Me staying in Serangoon 🙂

PLMGS is quite highly recommended around this area. I heard they have a very fun way to teach Chinese.

My brother and I have a 3yr age gap.

He studied in MSH and I was from PL.
Every morning my dad will drop me off at PL then head over to MSH (the jam at MSH is worse, plus they have a slightly later reporting time).

After school he’ll pick me up first as my classes end earlier, then pick my bro up. Sometimes he needs to send my brother to Padang for softball training, he’ll drop me off at home first.

By the time I was in P4, I mostly walked home or took a bus home with my neighbour (same age, same block, same CCA, different class). Sometimes my neighbour’s eldest brother or dad will pick us up if my dad is busy.

My dad’s life was devoted to ferrying his kids from place to place, he’s not a career minded man. Family comes first. Even with my brother and sister working now, he still fetches them to and fro daily.

It’s best to know neighbours who have kids the same age and going to the same school to pool resources.

Anyway, it’s not easy to get in PL unless you are alumni or old girl.

Is it? But for the past few yrs, there was no need to go for balloting for within 1km. I m crossing my fingers though.....

Hi! My boy will also be attending MSHS. 4 more days to go, feeling nervous & excited for him. BTW, does anyone know how’s the traffic situation along Braddel going to MSHS in the mornings? How are you all going to MSHS the first two days? Via the circle line? Because I understand the school doesn’t have any space for parking & surrounding area parking also limited. Trying to plan timing, etc. TIA

If you are driving, try to go early before 6:45am cos the traffic is bad. Yes, MSHS got limited parking space.

Morning traffic is bad, afternoon pick-up is worst. For the first few days, suggest you send your kids to school earlier.

                    Hi,

Did anyone arrange for bus driver to provide transport back to Toa Payoh? Wanted to get some feedbacks. Yesterday, i waited for 1 hour for my boys to be back. Today 45 mins. I thought it’s kinda long journey given distance from Bartley to TP is rather short. Called up the bus operator earlier. Initially they blamed it on bad traffic jam. After that, they revealed it’s due to 4 kids which they had arrange to send to Serangoon Central first before going to TP. I personally felt this is not the right way. I thought the buses is only catered to specific locations.

My eldest boy fell sick yesterday. After the long journey, he dozed off in the bus. Coupled with the coldness in the bus, he ran into fever soon after he reached home, complaining of neck pain. It’s common for kids to be sick… but i tot it’s not common it took 1 hour for the driver to reach TP.

                    Regards,

The bus driver advised that they leave school 15 min after dismissal time & takes another 20 min to reach my place in TP. So on Monday (dismissal at 1.45pm), my son reached around 2.15pm. Today (dismissal time at 1.15pm) about 1.50pm. When you said waited for 1 hour, it is from the time of dismissal or you waited for 1 hour from the expected time of arrival?

How's everyone after the first 2 days of staying with your child in school?

I think the parents were more excited and anxious than the children. 😉
