I find the Maths like quite serious… heavy stuff…

anyway… weighted assessment is when they will start grading and scoring our kids ah… marks/points will be given… for term 1 it is not points based… more of qualitative assessment… good… v.good… excellent

Tot they are using Stellar Program for English. So now there is a structured syllabus?

Looks like we are going into serious staff now. More pressure for parents n children?

the way I see it… the syllabus is always there… juz a matter of how the lessons are conducted… briefings to me don’t reflect anything ah… teachers have to present professionally. They want to ensure parents that our kids are in good hands… end of the day it is how the teachers go about the lessons to make them interesting that matters.

From Term 2 until term 4, the children would be assessed in listening, oral, reading and writing skills. They are gng to have activities like show and tell, speech and drama and stuff like that

Wow. looks like it’s going to be very interesting, fun and challenging ahead.

I agree with you Cyranocrash. It’s the teacher that counts. How are they going to make the lessons fun and interesting so that children will have an interest in the subject. My child told me that he doesn’t like Chinese. Any idea how this subject is being taught in school? Still thinking of ways how to go about teaching him in an interesting way that will stimulate his interest. Any suggestions?

can’t help u there ctmy… coz my daughter takes Malay… hahahaha.

but so far the Malay lessons have been fun and interesting. the teacher incorporates songs in the lessons… not juz any song… lady gaga song!!!
think teachers need to be creative… only then the students will have the interest to learn. once they are interested in learning… I believe the results will come naturally.
that’s why of all the things that was discussed today… i was only excited abt the radio station that the school is going to have… hahahahaha

                      Hi Cyranocrash,

First day of bus service is quite chaotic. My bus arrived 30mins instead of the usual 20mins. And one of the parent couldnt pick his child up cos he went into the wrong bus. Another one didnt stop at the stop that he is suppose to alight the kid.

My bus also looks older. =/

My DS bus also late by 20 mins. My DS was telling there are no seatbelts in the bus. Any other feedback? Have to see for a week lah.
