Does anybody know whether Pei Hwa Presbyterian Primary School still takes in parent volunteer? I went to their website and cannot locate the PV form. I emailed to them but no reply.

Wow, just saw on Ai Tong website that they will only take in 10 PVs to do traffic duties in a ballot this year. Overwhelming number of applicants. Only SCs living within 1km will be eligible for the PV ballot.

May I know what are the general questions they will ask during interviews?

It's like a job interview. You are effectively offering your services to the school. Some schools may have specific requirements for menial tasks to require little skill (eg. traffic wardens, helping out in canteens during recess times), while others may have jobs that require specific competencies (eg. helping out with CCA classes such as IT training, organising and managing external trips, giving talks or performances, etc). Obviously, if you have the skill to do something that the school needs, you will stand a good chance of being \"employed\".

So the key question they would ask would be what you can do for them.

                Hi,

Anyone got shortlisted for SCGS interview?
So far, the peopleโ€™ around me were all rejected. They donโ€™t seems to take in much volunteers.
I wonder where the numbers in their 2B phrase come from since they donโ€™t have church or clan associations. Glassroots?

am wondering if nan chiau primary school accept early Parent volunteering? my child is born in 2010. Btw, do anyone kind enough to post or provide me the past form for the parent volunteer for reference? many thanks ๐Ÿ˜„

Sorry i know some of the qns may have been answered but this thread is super long, so i may have missed it. ๐Ÿ˜„
Q1: is distance one of the criteria that they will be checking if one is suitable for PV?
Q2: how is the PV like? how PV get notified to do work? How much time do they give PV to react (cos need to deconflict)?
Q3: Do one guarantee to have the recommendation letter if one fulfills and clocks all the required hours ? (how many hours exactly) or there is no certainty?

For schools with a long history of balloting in Phase 2B, yes, distance is a major consideration. Normally, those staying beyond 2km will be gently turned down, for their own good as as not to waste their time.

The exact procedures differs from school to school. Usually, PVs will have to wait for the schools to call them for duty, unless it is a regular task such as daily traffic wardening. Try not to turn down the opportunity when the call comes... you may not get it again.

If you complete all the required hours and have documentary proof (signed and doubly \"chopped\"), there is no reason why the school will deny you the right to apply in Phase 2B.
