Hi Harlequin / Nutty mum,

The texture is like lard with a strong animal \"lard\" like scent - still bearable and it doesn't stay for long.

It doesn't sting like medicated oil though. Just imagine applying a thin layer of lard.

Emu Oil works well for my children. You can get it from pharmacies. They are widely available.

Eczema is a very common skin problem in many people, young and old. Most of us suffer from this skin condition to varying degrees. For me and my DD1, we will get some form of eczema from time to time especially when the weather is hot.

However, my MIL has a fantastic remedy to cure eczema. It is actually a herb coming from a plant she grows in her garden! I don't know the botanical name of the plant but it has saved many many many people from their agonies and sufferings over eczema.

My mil first came to know about the full benefits of this plant when she was watering the plant (which grows to the height of a man) in her garden and a taxi driver happened to pass by. He told my mil that the plant is a herb that cures skin diseases and is very previous cuz it is hardly found in Singapore. That set my mil thinking as her 3 year old granddaughter had been battling against chronic eczema since birth and all western medicine from skin specialists/KK hospitals and TCM remedies and acupuncture did not help at all. She decided to use the herb on her granddaughter. She collected the leaves of the plant and dried them under the sun for a few days or so. Then she boiled a handful of the dried leaves in water for 15 mins before bathing the toddler in it. The first bath already showed significant improvement. The red angry patches toned down in colour and became drier and less blotchy. the itch was also reduced much to my mil and sil's delight. My mil n sil continued bathing the kid everyday for a week. Lo and behold, my little niece looked like a changed person! Her rashes and eczema were totally gone and her skin looks as good as new. What a great blessing! I decided to try the herbs for myself when my skin started to itch and indeed, it worked wondrously. My skin was back to normal in a day or two. No more expensive consultations and useless steroid creams etc..to pay for!

So far, many people that we know have high praises for the herb, even for diabetic patients who have bad skin conditions due to their diabetes. My DC's classmates also benefitted from the use of this wonderful herb. They too have been battling eczema all their lives and often come to school with their arms and legs looking red and sometimes bloody due to over scratching.

I'm glad my mil grows this wondrous herb in her garden and it is indispensable whenever everyone in the household has some form of skin irritations. I guess this herb is a God send and worth than any weight of gold.

Yes it does contain steroid. After applying a thin layer on my eczema areas like 2-3 times, it healed and is no longer itchy. It is more potent than hydrocortisone. Elomet cream contains mometasone furoate, which is used to relieve the itching and inflammation of the skin.

Hahah, yep! I am experiencing that too, it gets pretty bad when I sweat. I understand how you feel, I used to have eczema all over my body and was on Prednisolone for 2 months. Horrible.

Tea tree oil is not for sensitive skin. If it does help, it is an infection, most likely a mild fungal infection. GPs can mistake the two quite easily and in some cases, the broken skin of eczema makes it easier for the site to get infected. If you must try it, dilute carefully.
