asteria98:
hi asteria98My son will be registering for P1 in a few years' time. I can register him in:
1) Chongfu School - Phase 2A(1)
2) SJI (Junior) - Phase 2A(2)
I prefer Chongfu as it an earlier phase, nearer to my home, more exposure to Chinese, and logistically convenient should I subsequently have a daughter.
SJI (Junior) seems more well-known and established and my Father-in-law and husband were from that school.
My son seems fine with any school.
What else do I need to consider to finally decide on a primary school for him?
Thanks.
I believe distance plays a very important part in deciding the schools. Chongfu is a very good school in the North and since it is logistically more convenient, I will go for it unless you are a very \"on\" Catholics and want your kids to be raise up in a Catholic school settings.
I always tell my friends who are deciding on primary school, the distance is number one priority cause it is 6 years of travelling. One of my friend regretted now for putting the son in Bishan while they stay in Pasir Ris. -

Hi,
Any idea for SCGS, if the no. of people who got in via 2B are mainly volunteers or grassroots?
Hope they won’t take in too many volunteers. Notice that last year, there is an increase in 2A and 2B phrase which result in the high balloting ratio last year. -
i stay just across the road and i am so worried we will not get a place via phase 2C
and there is no other school at D10 to register my girl at... worry worry worry... -
sigghh… same situation as well. my gal is a 08 baby, live nearby and with the recent stats, it sure doesnt bode well. sighhhh…
-
i am hoping to hear some good news from the govt soon… like those applying for phase 2A and 2B have to stay at least within 2km? hehe… crossing my fingers! i have a friend who lives at simei and her son studies at ACS here… so far…
-
am hoping for some changes as well. hopefully it has to do with those renting, but time is an issue. oh well, fingers crossed.
-
maybe should produce proof of ownership when registering for a place in the school… then we have less worries…
touch wood but what is your other alternative if you fail to get your girl a place at SCGS? i was thinking CHIJ at bukit panjang but by then not sure still have place left or not!!! so vex!
