Another way is to fry, with low heat in dried pan/wok, no oil requiredβ¦ keep turning til itβs done; quite labor intensive but tastierβ¦ frying is the best method for peanuts.

Thanks harlequin! The roasting of nuts seems do-able for a noob cook like me heh. Btw where would be a good place to get raw nuts? -

I got mine from Isetan supermarket, NTUC Finesse at BT Plaza at organic aisles at B2..., there are many kernels, seeds, nuts available there in a few different brands.Harlequin:

Pumpkin seeds are quite easy to start, can fry first then roast, when frying can cover with lid for brief moments to quicken, it won't get burnt easily like peanuts. Pumpkin seeds are good to go with breakfast cereal too.

:imanangel: Rinse partly due to the handling process, the harvested grapes are not washed and nowadays there is no sun dried but \"smoked\" dried after the grapes dipped in syrups. Main concern is the residual of pesticide la.

Wao! How do u roast nuts? Any seasonings required or just place them in the oven? Heh I'm looking for healthy snacks for myself
The best way to eat nuts with the most nutrients intact is to eat it raw but sprouted. To sprout, you can buy a dehydrator and warm the nuts below 47 degrees Celsius. Raw nuts are dormant and they have enzyme inhibitors to help them preserve themselves. To activate the enzyme is sprouting and these enzymes is good for body. If you use toasting over heat method using our normal kitchen utensils, it's quite hard to control the heat to be below 47 degrees.
All said, this is what I learned but never practise. Too troublesome lah. The dehydration process takes a few days. But I saw and ate sprouted seeds before, it has a very nice crisp and looks good. Can buy ready sprouted ones but expensive. You can try sprouted brown rice from ZenXin, it's quite affordable. -
How about a banana chocolate milk for snack. Combine fresh milk, raw cacao powder, some pisang rajah, sugar (use coconut sugar or agave syrup for low GI) then add a dash of cinnamon. Blend all in a mixer. Serve chilled. Yum!

[/quote]I love those biscuits with sugar tops. I just eat the sugar and dump the biscuits to my brother when I was a little girl. I know it's very terrible of me :spank:
