Holy Pri is SAP sch, it has a more Chinese Cultured school environment.
However, PLMGS is better in terms of academic.
PLMGS PSLE Distinction rates for all subjects way above National average:
        - Eng 71%+ above
        - Maths n Sci above 62%+ above
        - Chinese hovers between 85-92%. Yr 2011, Chinese Dist'n was 90% above.
        Also, affiliated to PL Sec.
Go for PLMGS. It just renovated it's campus n single session this yr.
        A caring school, indeed.

Thanks for your inputs, Chip n Dale! I have another question. Even though Holy Inncoent’s is a SAP school, does it explicilty mean that its Chinese standard is better than other non-SAP schools like PLMGS?

            Hi PrincessKaris,

For SAP school, moral education is conducted in Chinese and they only teach Higher Chinese Language. The exposure to Chinese environment and culture are more as compared to a non-SAP school.

For non-SAP school, higher chinese language is not mandatory. Students will still be offered to take up Higher Chinese Language in P3 if they perform well in the subject.

PLMGS is a girls' school. If you have sons and daughters, PLMGS may not be a good choice for you as you need to go through the same registration process again.

Yr query abt Chinese std higher in a SAP sch like Holy Inncoent, I'm not too sure.
Even if it's Chinese std is higher than PLMGS, looking at PLMGS PSLE Chinese result, it has been achieving commendable results above National Distintion %.

                Hi hellokittyspore,
I only have a dd, so it's ok to go to a girls' school. Thanks for highlighting anyway! It seems that other than higher Chinese being offered at holy innocent's, PLMGS is better overall.

PL will not reduce the Pri enrolment as it has just added an extension Block of building. I understand that most of the Girls' Schs hv 240 or lesser Pri 1 places. If PL reduces Pri 1 places to 240, the competition will be fiercer in PLMGS.

I fall within 1-2km phase 2C but am thinking to apply for PV to increase my chances. But looking at the new condo development near the school, I'm afraid competition might be tougher as there will definitely be parents getting units there to get into PLMGS. 😞

Suggest u apply for PLMGS PV.

                        It’s always worth trying.
But the sch may have cut down on PV numbers recent yrs due to overwhelming requests, result’g in balloting n PV not able to secure a place under Ph 2B.
Check with the PL Admin staff. They are very approachable from what I know.
