One obvious sign of too much - when your kid fall asleep while eating. Imagine that! No kidding, it happened on my colleague's kid who is exactly like what you say - go to full time cc, loaded with classes on weekday evenings and weekends too.

I personally don't load my kid's with weekday evening classes. Find it too much, after a full day at cc.

same here. after full day CC duno hw they tahan the evening classes. wkend already have 2 classes. she want ballet now...duno where to place it.

some kids can make it. But I am not going to test my kid. It should be enrichment classes, not enslavement.

I agree. In fact I think that spending time to do work with your child is not quality time.

A teenager or a child needs time for leisure. Spending time to communicate is important. Simple things like having cake and tea together can be enjoyable.

Just some scones and sandwiches + nice glass of milkshake.. I desire such afternoons. In June, I intend to take a week off work to bring DS out. Solely enjoy.

Now it's impossible for me to take leave.

Yes, an ice cream would be nice…but when there is so much school homework and mid-year exam preparation, doubt kids and myself can truly enjoy the taste. So I will strike a bargain with them…we work very hard until 15/5…then we enjoy ourselves.

My son is doing very little in comparison. He gets home at 2pm, starts homework at 3pm or later, and goes cycling or swimming at 5pm. At night we will just go through his tingxie and he may do his piano practice. If we go out for dinner, he does nothing. At 9pm I read to them (more for the preschooler), lights out by 9.45pm.


Today he has CCA and will get home at 4pm. He will loiter, do some homework, then go swimming with his friends if it doesn't rain. He will be there for one and a half to two hours. After dinner will be piano practice. That is it.

My younger one came home at 12 plus. After lunch I took him cycling, bought some snacks and set up obstacle courses for him at the playground. Played two games of chess, and showered him. He is entertaining himself now coz I need coffee... :snooze:

Yup yup. Me guilty of both Centrepoint then Northpoint, in that order. Marina kids anyone? That was later part, when SG more developed.
