      Yes, preferably teach/introduce the ABCs

first. So she’ll know letter name before
sounds. After she knows ABCs she can
associate the sounds with the written
      letters better.

            Hi buds,

I am currently playing e mystery bag game to reinforce on recognition of letter shapes n name. My dd enjoy e game v much! Thank you so much! πŸ˜„

Just now, i went to Page One at vivocity and found some letterland products. I was so excited! I bought a alphabet song cd, handwriting song cd & alphabet frieze. Wanted to buy ABC board book but they do not carry it.

As i had mention above, now im reinforcing on letternames and shapes, can i let her hear e alphabet song cd? I tink its for learning e letter sounds rite? As for alpahbet frieze, its like poster kind which can be paste on wall, but i dun like e idea of pasting on e wall. So shd i show her 1 alphabet at a time or can i continue to show her a few at a time? Basically do you hav any ideas of how shd i go abt with it?

For those who are interested in buying letterland product at Page One, They are next to the shelf of ladybird books, right at e bottom.

Dearest ADave, i have not had a chance to explore this edufarm place,
hence i can't really comment constructively. Letterland in itself is a great
phonics method/pgrm... and as with many other methodologies, it is in the
hands of the facilitator that really counts. I would request the centre allow
me at least one sitting (observation) of the teacher that my child would be
assigned to, so that i can gauge her competency level in knowledge of the
method, her delivery, her speech... & definitely not forgetting her patience
              and passion.

Sorry i couldn't be of much help with this.

                Hi buds,

Hiya spring! Hope you and your family have recovered from that awful
bug that's been dampening some new year spirit. Glad to see you back!

Wow, your collecting fetish has begun. Pockets, beware!
Those are good buys, spring. My ABC book of all places i
managed to get it from Popular. I was soooo surprised 2
see it in Popular. If you're really keen, they do sell it on
ebay and you might just get them directly from Francis.
Or you may wish to consider finding out if you can just
ask any Tumble Tots operator for their kind assistance
to get one for you, since they offer Letterland phonics
in all their centres. I got mine over 35 bucks.

As i had mention above, now im reinforcing on letternames and shapes, can i let her hear e alphabet song cd?
This is totally subjective. It depends on how you wish for
your child to learn. Letterland does do both letter names
and sounds simultaneously. And with dedication to its
method, it can work. πŸ˜‰ If you think she won't be too
overly confused between letter names and letter sounds
you may go right ahead. Using this method, she should
be able to distinguish both simultaneously and be able
to effectively tell the difference. Character recognition
via the songs will also help to enforce the learning of
letters and sounds. The characters makes it fun to
                learn.
                spring:
I tink its for learning e letter sounds rite?
                Yes it should be. πŸ˜‰
I dun think they have any CDs teaching just letter names songs.
                spring:
As for alpahbet frieze, its like poster kind which can be paste on wall, but i dun like e idea of pasting on e wall.
Hehee.. i used to decorate my DD1's room with the wall frieze. It made
the room look colourful and she would point to them as we sing along
to the CDs. I will work the flashcards with her as well during revisions
at home. *My DD1 attended Tumble Tots for a while...*
                spring:
So shd i show her 1 alphabet at a time or can i continue to show her a few at a time?
For young children of 2 yrs, preferably one at a time. But if you think she
can handle it, a few is fine too. Since you are teaching your own child, the
progress you undertake is subjective to the time you can afford to spend
with her daily and also her interest.
                spring:
Basically do you hav any ideas of how shd i go abt with it?
Letterland is all about the characters. Plus a lot on the stories and songs
as well. The idea is to help children recognize the characters which hides
their letter shapes. Each character makes their own sound. Geez, i am
so behind in updating you about the method. I've got to upload the pics
soon so you can have a feel of how to start. Very sorry lah, my DD2 first
week in P1 so a lil abuzz with excitement. But i have less time to log in
as both my girls are in different sessions. Meaning one goes, one is home.
I promise i will try my best to put them up soonest. Many apologies for the
                delay.

I was quite surprised she can name me a few of e characters correctly bcos i tot she isnt really paying attention to e songs.

I cant seems to find a large wall space to paste e frieze underneath each other in e bedroom. So can paste them separately anot huh? e.g a-l on this wall, m-z on another wall? For e flashcards rite, i had asked e teacher at tumble tots, she told me tat e first reading flashcard wld b more suitable for older children(shd b 3yrs plus n above), as she say its not big enuff for younger kids to catch their attention.
