I think its for Year-1 parents only.. My DS is in Year-2 this year.. I didn't get any email invitation so far..
firefly38, you managed to register? so fast filled up already...
However, I don't remember getting it last year too, when DS was in Year-1.. Maybe, I don't remember correctly..

firefly38:
Lunch should be for Y1-Y4... but if I'm not wrong, the first session is only for Y2-Y4 as Y1 will be having the PTM on 19 April 2013.

The rest of another 5 session in this year will be open for Y1-Y4. Those already attended will not be invited.
Unless the email went to spam folder?
Another session will be Breakfast with Principal which is reserved for Y5 and Y6... -

Hi parents of RI. Iām new to this thread. My DS is in RI yr 1. Would appreciate if any parent could share their views regarding e raffles programme & e teachers in RI. Iām pretty lost with sec school system as DS is my elder. Wondering how can I or should I be more involved & informed of his sec school life. Thank you!

My DS is in yr3. Most of his friends n him are coping well in RP. How much one benefits from RP is dependent on one's interests n drive to learn more. Even if one lacks drive n interest, consistent work will usually suffice. Like in all other schools, there is a mix of both inspiring n not so engaging teachers. Based solely on my DS' teachers, almost all are truly excellent teachers. I always drill it into my DS to never blame a teacher for poor grades. A pupil must take charge of his learning journey. Making good friends will also help ease the expectations of RP eg gd project mates, sharing of notes n knowledge, fruitful exchange of ideas, encouraging one another etc.
There are many avenues for parents to clarify their queries. the HOD's email addresses are easily available. so are all the teachers' email addresses. As a parent, I try to stay in the loop by attending talks such as the upcoming ones at 4-5pm during the PTM next Friday. Parents are given regular updates with newsletters posted on stamford14. And we are also given short SMS notifications for events, talks n new updates. But nothing beats frequent conversations with our sons. My DS is my biggest source of information on what's going on in RI.angel12:

There is this RPA, Raffles Parents Alumni (I am not sure abt the full name) which all parents are part of. They do organize occasional events such as the recent Family Day. You can get involved and speak to other parents

Hi Orangebelt, getting into sports CCA in Raffles is not easy as there is limited slots for each sports CCA. If DS had no prior background, he can enrol for the trials which for some sports like tennis, there are only 2 to 3 slots available

Is it still normally school day for the kids this Friday, 19 Apr? Do you normally bring the kid along to see the tr for PTM ?
