Hi, anyone knows the components for upcoming P3 SA1 Chinese Oral? Apart from passage reading, there’ll be picture discussion or conversation? I know for English, it’s only passage reading and re-telling of story. Thanks.

Just received a note from sch stating the non-writing components of MT SA1 take up 40% of the total score. Essay writing (which some of us are quite worried about) only contributes 15%. Are we barking at the wrong tree all this while? -
Yes, u are spot on! It just sank into me that MT oral is 30% (vs paper 2 of 45% and compo of 15%. I think I should have known about the relatively high % for oral all this while but the real impact only hit me last Fri when that little piece of paper was brought back. Tried to do some extra practices esp on picture discussion over the wkend but quite a painful process. I hope their Cl teacher has been revising oral and listening comprehension components in class…

Listening compre 10%?[/quote]Yes, oral alone is 30%! Listening compre is 10%. Didn't hear my DS mention doing CL listening compre in class thus far.. -
Was told previously that that's the trend going forward. At psle, the percentage for oral will b adjusted upwards. Focused more on reading n verbal expression these few weeks too.. Hopefully i will see improvement. Ds said both T n MT teacher has been teaching oral techniques in class for past 2 wks..

Haiz, intense practice over weekend on the CL oral 看图说话 with ds...but he came back yesterday saying that he was so nervous that he forgot to say \"如果我在场,我会。。。\".... :stupid:
And...all the park, library, shopping center, playround scenarios nvr come out...was a \"restaurant/cafe\".... :faint:
My ds seems to memorise some key words from his teacher..so always like to say we must “保持公共场所的清洁与卫生\" told him many times that this is not the standard answer to all scenarios...but he does not seem to catch leh...I didn't realise the CL oral % was so high....until i see the post here...i think i did not pay attn to that piece paper brought home, hope he does not do too badly... -
Yea, Didnt expect cafe also… It’s quite a foreign concept for my boy… Hopefully they did well enough this time round

Yes, my DS took CL oral yesterday and said it was a foodcourt/restaurant setting too. Just hope his verbal sentences are grammatically correct i.e. no "yu3 bing4". He said reading passage was ok - no new/difficult word this time round according to him. Now can work on compo and paper 2 components for languages…

Mine has to take his Eng oral on 6-May as he’s on 2 day MC. Luckily he got better today.
