thanks. actually his school is also mindful of this and they have instructed us parents to hand over some of the books for the teachers to keep in school (when we report for the first day). this is to minimize the amount of books they have to carry.Hi
Both my children have been using cross com bags since primary one. On the whole, the bags are sturdy and lasting. Most importantly, it provides good support for their spines considering the weight of the books they have to carry. It is value for money and in my opinion, a worthwhile investment for a good six years or more.
so the bags are good enough quality to last six years or more? what about capacity wise? enough for everything, you think?
thanks. -
It all depends. My daughter has been carrying the same bag since pr 1. She will be in pr 6 next year. Of late, she has been complaining of a lack of space but guess we will not get a bigger one for her (there are different sizes available). The bag is still in a good condition. She may need to carry any extra books in a carrier though.
My son, being more rugged ,has to get a new one in pr 5. He is the kind whose uniforms, shoes and almost anything get worn out faster than the sister’s. The interior gets torn more easily than the exterior. Anyway, crosscom offers discounts when we trade in old crosscom bags to get a new one.
We bought the table and chair set too for my son. It is still in good conditon after so many years. However, it is not fully utilised cos my son prefers to do his work at our family area on the teak table and chair. -
Hi, I bought my boy ergonomic table and chair from kinderfun. The price’s alot more competitive than crosscom.
If I remember correctly, the set rounds up to be about S$1500 (for a table and chair only), plus they give out free ergonomic bag. Had to buy the 3M light for him (so it’s another S$100+)
We were first attractive to crosscom at Suntec and the sales lady was very good in introducing her products. But the whole set (table, chair, lamp) was like S$3K.
We went to Kinderfun showroom next (near Outram area) and was not too impressed by the sales lady. But we didn’t need anymore introduction from her about ergonomic furniture since we already knew alot from Crosscom. The products were more or less the same, similar concepts, just that it wasn’t packaged so nicely or professional like Crosscom.
My boy has been using the table like for half year already and when I look back, I didn’t regret my decision to buy from Kinderfun. The table and chair is still good and I think it will probably last quite sometime. Somemore we got the bag, so will use the bag when he turns P1 2 years later. -
My head hurts  Is there any other stores selling ergonomics table and chairs ? How bout those sold at ikea ?
-
I have a set from kinderfun too, bought it during a sale, table and chair costs $1K. Look out for their sales, it usu on the newspapers. As for the bag, my hubby bought 1 for my boy last year to prep for P1. cost $140+, ex right? and a little heavy tho, but it is quite sturdy and is with shape, so the bag wont topple over even if it has not books in it. I think this bag should be able to last at least till end P3, cos I suspect my boy will ask for a change. He may want something not so kiddy anymore.
So in opinion, $140+ for 3 years is good. kinderfun table and chair is a good investment provided your child uses it for work. cos my son likes to work at different places depending on his mood. -
Wasn’t there an ad in the paper today ? Only $300 discount so total up will still be bout $1.7k … How’d ya get it at $1000 . Usual price is about $2000 for table and chair :!:

Does ergonomic tables and chairs help the backbone a lot ? Don't know if that $2000 is worth spending ....... Thers's no ledge or anything to hold the book so the book might slip off and it will be troublesome . So I really don't know if it's worth it . I've heard about crosscom and the other one which i can't remember at the moment ... How bout the one at Ikea might be cheaper ... -
sorry, I forgot to mention that I got it at least 3 years ago.
