Choosing and Evaluating Primary Schools
-
Hi everybody…I’m an ex IJ gal from our lady queen of peace. Im preparing my gal for next yr primary one…I stay at Sin Ming near Bishan. Therefore I can only choose Ai Tong or Marymount Convent and fall to phrase 2c. Any comment on Ai tong and Marymount convent? Ai tong is abit hard to enter and Marymount convent chances is higher. Any advices?. TIA…

Ai Tong is definitely very tough to ballot even at 1km. But if you don't mind Marymount Convent, then what I would suggest is for you to try the balloting at Ai Tong first at Phase 2C, then if unsuccessful, go to Marymount at Phase 2C Supplementary. Historically speaking, Marymount has places at P2C Supp.
If you want a stress-free registration, just go to Marymount at Phase 2C directly. Guaranteed place. -
Saw this article in stomp on the link below and went to the school website to research.
Principle's message is good and school seem quite new but abit far fr my place

You can visit the Montfort thread at the Parents Networking section to ask actual parents who have boys there. Some say the teachers are caring. It is a Catholic boys school that is not usually on the radar of parents here if you look at the registration statistics. So if you want to apply your boy there, it's a confirmed place.
At Phase 2C in 2012, only 58 pple registered for 157 places available. That makes 99 places available for Phase 2C Supplementary.

Hi,
My DD is born in year 2009 so being a Kiasu Parent, I am now planning which school should I register my DD.
I am staying <1km from Greenridge and 1-2 km from CHIJ OLQOP. Based on past records, CHIJ OLQOP does not required ballot for 1-2km except for year 2009, which I don’t know why there is a sudden interest. Hence, I am a bit worried that history may repeat in year 2015 P1 registration.
Does anyone has any comments for these two schools?

Any feedback between PLMG and St Nick?
IMO, both PLMGS and St Nicks are great sch.
St Nicks has an all-rounded education which focus not only on academics but Character Building.
Very academics focused school but teachers are readily available to help.
Bonding among the girls are strong as sch emphasis on Jia Mien Tong Xi.
Big sch campus it has.
PLMGS though not as popular as SNG but has it's own niche areas.
It's PSLE results are commemdable for a mission sch (check details fr web site).
Sch just renovated with upgraded facilities.
Emphasis on Christian values in its education. -
A friend of mine ask -
Between chij st Nicholas and mgs (bukit timah) primary -
which would you choose ?
(Ignore distance, just focus on these 2 schools )
