      Jennifer:

My mom's specialty...crushed cooked potato (not mashed!) + mashed luncheon meat fried with egg.
Pls share this specialty recipe. Dun be so selfish hor 😆 Better still, post pic, ok?[/quote]

Think no special recipe, just that my family love this dish!
If I'm not wrong, she will cook the potato together with the rice.
She'll mash and fry the luncheon met under low heat to make it abit crispy and also get the oil out. Add in the cooked potato and crush and mix with luncheon meat.

Fry the mix for a while and flatten and then add the whipped egg.

      That simple!

Went for bayfront steamboat buffet last night. Vouchers we bought from groupon.

Location is rather nice and interesting between marina barage and gardens by the bay. Variety is not bad, quality ok. But I still prefer those steamboat restaurant in BKK for their chilli.

cooking method similar to your cucumber with eggs.

I would use base soup to cook the potato strips - give it more flavour and a meaty taste.
use base soup to cook, that's a good idea! Thks!

If i cook pasta,I'll keep the \"pasta water\" n use it as base soup for porridge or frying.

For how long can the \"pasta water\" keep? You freeze into portions?
