SAHM_TAN, yes got alternative plan which does not require balloting for 2B/2C. the sch i'm aiming, 2B last yr no ballot for my distance. But was told birth rate is more for 2007 bbs so lower chance :(
Since you have back-up plan then don't need to worry becos will not change the result. Just monitor and make your decision accordingly.SAHM_TAN:
stressed when time approaching...under 2B, ballot or not still not confirmed.. nail bitting

Do you have a back-up plan?
All the best. -

working parents can give a good headstart too.. why not ? of course, we need support from grandparents/studentcare for after school care..
i don't think working parents kids are any less advantage le.. -
I gather here the headstart refers to academic ba.
For academic excellence, if a child is academically incline, I don’t think really matters if the child has a stay at home parent or not.
There are many styles and forms of parenting, up to the individuals.
There’s no right or wrong, only what’s right for the individual parent. -
Hi, do you know there is a MOE Seminar for Parents with children going to Primary 1 in 2014, coming up?
Please go to http://www.moe.gov.sg/events/seminars-for-parents/
To register for free admission for your family. -

Agreed. I am a FTWM as well. Instead of giving up working and feel bored at home. I changed job in order to have more work life balanced with my girl.sembgal:

im referring acedemic wise.. i dont see any difference with kids that parents stay at home and those with parents are working..
i think working parents put in more effort as we do not have much time with them..
for myself, i set up routines for homework, assessment books in the weekday evenings..my childs are coping well, no issues in learning or catching up etc..
so, i would think it's the kids ability to cope and also what parents are doing to help the child.. it's not whether the parents are working or stay home.. in term of time, of course stay home parents can afford more time to plan, coach.. but it does not mean working parents cant do that.. so long we manage our time well..
so, ladies, dont give up our job ! heh heh.. -

To be a stay at home parent or not is a personal choice. I doubt there's an upper hand in either situation, under normal circumstances.SAHM_TAN:
