      why must add buttermilk to make chocolate cake ?


      Can I make any chocolate without buttermilk or sour cream?

        Hi. I don’t know the answer to your question. Sorry.


        However, if your concern is about finding buttermilk. You can make your own. Mix 1 cup of milk and 1 tbsp lemon juice, leave to stand for 5 minutes, then can use. If not using immediately, can also refrigerate.

          I have never added buttermilk or sour cream to any chocolate cake I’ve ever baked, only normal milk.

                        Buttermilk/sour cream makes the cake more moist and it keeps better in the fridge / dry weather.

                        But you can definitely bake without it, it is not a must-have.
