statutory declaration is valid for the child's primary school registration, thus is independent of which phase.

Frankly speaking, I don't think statutory declaration is useful if the school is already balloting within 1 km regardless of the phases.

Hi, I’m planning to use my IL’s address to register for pri sch. My son has been under their care since he was born. My qn is: can I register for the sch’s after sch care if I make that statutory declaration? I’m hoping to put him in after sch care as he has nothing to do at my IL’s place and will get bored. If both parents are working full-time, statutory declaration can be made. The grandparent’s address can be used for the purpose of registration.Now, at the point of declaration, both parents are working. Now what if one of the parents has left the job or converted to flexi hours, will the child be penalised by MOE? That means if the child can get balloted into a school, will MOE penalise the child just because one of the parent is no longer working full-time after statutory declaration was made. Anyone can advise?

It is impossible for MOE to track all eventualities. MOE can only verify and use information that is true at the point of registration. As long as you can prove that both parents were gainfully employed when registering the child, it will be sufficient.

the usual norm is within the past few weeks, so either a letter from the company HR bearing the company letterhead or the previous month payslip.

Not sure what is MOE's requirement.

I think pay slip is a good one to back up that the parents are working full time in a company as the starting date joined the company is also reflected in pay slip. Even if I want to get a BTO flat from HDB, I need to show past 3 months payslips.

I think this is possible. If your child is unsuccessful in P2C, your child's record is \"erased\" from MOE's system. So, you start from a clean slate in P2CS. Parents usually choose schools that are nearer to their homes in P2CS (assuming they aim for schools further and hence they opt for statutory declaration). So, I believe the scenario you mentioned is rather common.

However, this is my guess only. Best to check with MOE.

By the way, full employment of both parents does not mean your application for statutory declaration will definitely be approved. One member feedback here last year that if the child were in childcare centre in K2, MOE might not approve the statutory declaration. It's mentioned somewhere in this thread, I think.

Thank you qms. I am fully aware that if a child is in Childcare for full day and grandparents take care, the statutory declaration will not be approved. The child must be studying in a kindergarten and parents can show proof that the child has been under the daycare of grandparents as both parents are working full time, using the parents' payslips and parents' company appointment letters.
