        @MyPillow

        According to my DH, he says Xi An should be quite safe for a solo woman to wander around the city past midnight.

        A female friend of mine co-owns and runs a factory in Xiamen. I asked similar questions too like why she dared to wonder around the street solo past midnight. She showed me photos of Xiamen streets and I was impressed to see a city so clean and modern. Though I know there are many CCTVs around, low crime doesn’t mean no crime. How long and efficient are the PRC police to nab the culprit and to solve the crime, we don’t know!! 😰

              @zac-s-mum Even with face recognition, I think it’s better to avoid the situation than expect the police to nab an offender! It’s true that CCTVs are everywhere and crime rates are much lower as a result. My China friend told me that she is less careful about what she leaves in her car, or even about being pickpocketed, now that CCTVs are ubiquitous. There is loss of privacy, but there isn’t much they can do about that.

              But there is still some risk of crime. I guess everyone’s risk tolerance is different. I would still think it’s better not to wander around alone past midnight, male or female!

                Apologies for not having responded for so long… I broke my arm when cycling last Friday. First time in my life with a cast 🤕 Oh well, that’s life and I will have to live with it. Taking panadol as the throbbing pain is no joke.

                i trust that the P6s are now having lots of fun playing or sleeping. Seriously, this is the best time to let them decompress for a couple of weeks. Not too long, though, as they will get bored with an idle life soon enough 😀 . Plan for them to have some activities after 2 weeks. Parents should also take the chance to relax together with their kids.

                    @zac-s-mum Thank you Zac’s mum. I don’t why I always cannot get in this forum now after the upgrading. Very busy at work and no money for oversea travels. 😧 Finally went for a blood test in July and was told having a very high LDL cholesterol level. Taken the western medication for one month and the LDL cholesterol level fell to 2.55 (below the range 2.6 to 3.3) but having terrible muscle pain, so I refuse to continue the western medication. TCM doctor told me to adjust my diets and life style and stop taking any fried or deep fried food (Trans Fat food). Able to loss 1.5 kg weight already. Now only eat soup or steam food. 😵

                      @Liew-Nga-Wing So sorry to hear about your high cholesterol and the effect of the medication. I hope your change of diet will continue to keep the LDL under control!

                      I have trouble on and off getting on to KSP too. Some days, I have no trouble, but some days, I can’t get on at all. See you around more, I hope!

                        Yes, unfortunately it is my right writing arm. Sigh. Oh well, things happen. I have to put on the cast for 3 weeks at least. I didn’t know bones can heal so quickly… 😬
