        Oh, SBKS is a daddy.

Daddy wants what sort of me time?
My husband 'me time' starts straight from after dinner as I am a sahm to ensure kids don't need to dad's time unless for play. His me time is usually spent on games, surf net,he can play computer and handheld games at the same time. After kids sleep, we retire to the room for drinks, I watch tv, he play some more games or surf with his phone and watch tv with me and we chat random stuff that pops up. Then bedtime for him while I go prepare for next day stuff. He enjoys hearty lunch alone as part of his me time. Weekends, we head off different places to send different kids to enrichment .that is me time for us although we prefer it to be couple time. It helps that I have free SMS so just update each other. He used that time to surf net or play games.....again. :faint:

It gets better when your younger goes to primary school if you can establish routine and independence. After dinner and homework, my primary one boy will have his free time till bedtime. He can entertain himself with a book or drawings. So hang on for another four years!

thanks ladies for all the replies. glad that most of you are having ME time.

maybe need advice on how to squeeze Me time out.

wkdays for me is 7am wake kids up for school/childcare, bring them there, then go to work. after work fetch them home let them have dinner which is mostly ard 7-8pm++ then bathe them and let them rest a while before gog to sleep at 9-10pm.

my kids are 2.5 and 5yo. got no car and no helper and no parents to help. both my wife and I are working.

the only time i can squeeze out is either i slp late (after kids slpt) or i wake up early like 5am to have my own ME time. but things that can be done are all limited as kids are sleeping.

wkends is kids time and their enrichment time and revision time. there are a little ME time when they are in classes for their enrichment. which I spent watching dramas. about 90mins.

can my situation squeeze anymore ME time?
          thumbs up, pops

not really sure how you can me time

what do you like to do?

I take walks, jog (when I feel like it) and sometimes cycle to the town centre after kids have slept

once in a while....really once in a while on Fri nights I will play action packed computer games and wife plays with me

            Yes, by taking turns.
Ask your wife to take care of both kids on a day you both agreed on, for a couple of hours.
You can use that 2 hours to chill out somewhere (not too far away from home so that you can react quickly if you need to rush home)
And you can do the same for your wife on a separate day that both of you agreed on. She needs ME time too.

Start with once a week. See if manageable.

Whoa! hearing all your ME time makes me feel I have to plan too for my ME time!

for my ME time, there is no structure, more of impromptu...weekdays very difficult to squeeze in any ME time unless if mean I go back home later....like today..I will go back late..cause just want to go and work out in the gym after work and also to have ME time...since CA just over 🙂

it is good and important to have ME time...and I should plan properly 😉

              janet, Happy Anniversay to you!

I am fortunate to have almost daily me time on weekdays. After I send the kids off to school, I will have 2 whole hours to myself before I head off to work. I will usually take 1 hour for my morning run, thereafter read the papers while cooling off, shower, breakfast and off to work. Kids are packed off to bed at 9pm, DD still needs me to accompany her till she sleeps so from about 9.30pm onwards, I have another pocket of me time/couple time.

I am content to spend ‘me time’ at home pottering around thus it is easy to find ‘me time’. For those who need to get out, it will be a little more challenging. ‘Me time’ need not be a daily thing. Work a schedule out with our spouse. When you plan, you will definitely be able to carve out some time.

This year,I have two hours of me time in the afternoon(2-4).I use that time for reading/nap/self reflection/talk with a friend over the phone/Grocery shopping cum window shopping. If I finish my chores on time then I can enjoy my ME Time fully, whole two hrs.

My DH ME time jogging, surf net(news, news, news…).

Can you get them to sleep earlier? At ages 2.5 and 5, it would be good for them to be able to get close to 11-12 hours sleep. If they go to bed at about 8, you'll have time to go for a night time run, or open a bottle of sake (smaller than a bottle of wine!) to share with your wife.

It'll get easier when they're both in primary school - then you may be able to squeeze some time after they go to school and before you go to work.

But what kind of ME activities do you want to do? Exercise? Meet friends? Date your wife?

My me activity is yoga. After I drop by son at school, and if I'm not teaching that day, I'll go for yoga followed by kopi with my friends.
