Me Time!

My favourite are the snowskin ones. I've started making my own coz I can also reduce the sugar level. The fabpuring sold are s'times overpowering esp those 'liquor' ones. Too much essence aftertaste.if the colouring n flavouring are natural sources, then should be acceptable?
I yet to visit mooncake fest. Waiting for hubby to return from USA, then go with him. In the past few years, he has developed a weak spot for the traditional baked mooncakes
I might buy a few snowskin ones for ah boy.
Next Monday will be 八月初一 -
where got sell cempalak snow-skin moon-cake ?

Never been a fan of mooncakes.
If I do eat I go only for the traditional baked ones with lotus paste or teochew la piah. Not the yam ones but the traditional flakey skin with white lotus paste and pumpkin seeds filling. Even those, I will eat like only 1/8 of it and that’s it. -
1 traditional white lotus without yolk, opened few days still left some in tupperware. I have online ordered 2 boxes snow skin durian mooncake…will need to be shared.

East ocean don’t have yam samples to try today but they are on sale though. 9 small ones or 4 big ones in a box. -
I have a sweet tooth and moon cakes are my weakness! Am refraining this year because trying to cut down on sugar and carbs. No one else in the family eats them anyway.
ME time in the office today. DH took leave to bring DS out for their outdoor bonding activities during these school holidays :boogie: -

I am also intending to eat less this year, to cut down on the sugar etc. But I won't forgo them entirely. My strategy is to wait a while more and only buy a few. I'll probably get some next week - daughters are asking for them! -
I think traditional mooncakes lacks the oomphs these days…probably coz they no longer use pork lard anymore
-
I never bought any mooncakes all these years. But will end up with a few boxes every year. And MIL will still buy those little piggies for kiddos.
