I’ve to take into consideration travel needs, as it’s definitely not like home where u just make a call to family doc for any urgent treatment.

In a way, we Need to hv some basic medication to administer self-medication. In Europe, u’re not familiar with available medical care & I rmbr in Austria, u’ve to make prior appt. I was only fortunate to hv my frd who hv a doc to treat my varicose flare up. If I hv to stay in washroom or in bed, then there’s no holiday.

I Brot all my muscle relaxant cream coz after walking & shopping, my back will be tensed.

We will keep our travel medications for a few months before disposing expired medicine. If they were open for use, then I will dispose before flying home.
timely reminder 🙂 i must remember to bring muscle rub , antacid med, just incase .... it is very uncomfortable & can be quite sick to get indgestion or bloated .. esp on stomach illnesses
Estee, take are , lucky u discovered the heart issues early.... Thank God!
err ... actually how to decide to go to doc, as sometimes women/ men may just feel stuffy chest mayeb due yo stress, hot weather, hormones changes etc

I’ve brot along my statin. Last week I had a short, small heart arrest & thankful for early intervention by my specialist. Had tight chest on/off for last couple of years & only when I sought 2nd opinion did my new private specialist identified plaque in blood vessels which somehow was missed out in the last few checks at NUH. Flabbergasted! Thank God for saving Grace.
When you are back to Singapore, may check with your TCM doctor whether you should take \"血府逐瘀湯\" which is for 治療血瘀胸部. I have taken it few months ago and it helped to bring my blood pressure back to normal range.

Dhamotil, novomin, zyrtec, gaviscon, paracetamol, plasters, eyedrops, inhaler. This is my usual travel 1st aid kit. Maybe this year we shall throw in a few covid test kit.

Will be going for the latest covid jab this week. Will bring DS along for his jab as well. Both DS and I have never gotten Covid. Last thing we want is to be infected while on holiday. Told DH to get his as well since he travels so much. DD was just infected not too long ago and she is not travelling with us this year so she can delay her jab.

maybe u all home cooked food most time, so lesser chance of getting stomach flu, diarrhea , vomit etc outside food can be oily, heaty, spicy etc :nailbite:

More than a mth to few places must be very enjoyable :snuggles: no wonder you getting few med. A good plan.
I go by the fact that once u’re out of yr comfort zone (out of home-country) always hv some medication ready. If basic problems, at least hv sth at hand to resolve it immediately. If sth serious, at least on-hand medication help alleviate symptoms whilst looking for professional help in a foreign land.

Think in SG, we’ve good & easily accessible medical resources but in Europe, it’s not so str-fwd as u need to know where to get the right help & some of these places require prior appt! In 3rd world countries, u’ll want to hv that bag of medicine to tie u over whilst fly back home.

I don’t mean to think my medicine bag will be my end-all solution. Still hv be extra careful, observant with the level of critical needs & make early decisive move to forgo holiday to attend to yr health needs first.

In addition, always get travel insurance cover. It’s a must even with pre-existing conditions (NTUC Income covers pre-existing).
